4: How do you get into your OC’s mindset to write for them? How do you find the muse for them?
- This is kind of a hard question because I’m not sure I actually find their mindsets. Maybe I do but there’s no process involved other than maybe that I tend to really get into detail when it comes to character creation. Maybe it’s just because I know most of them really well even before I write them.
10: How do they deal with strangers?
- Ateyla tends to be very icy towards strangers to begin with. She’s not hugely sympathetic and will often try and deliberately distance herself. More often than not she can appear rude, angry, introverted and kind of stuck up.- Klivvik loves strangers and will chat with them like they’ve known each other for years. More often than not they’ll end up rambling at them awkwardly.- Caerthys is another one that is great with strangers. She dives in with questions, wants to know about them and their lives and stories, and is just very collected and excited about people.- Tasia avoids strangers mostly. She’s a very introverted individual, mostly because she’s not sure how others will react to her Gladium status. There are occasions where she becomes very bashful and boisterous when meeting new people that leave strong first impressions.- Faerylie is a loud extrovert and attempts to surround herself with people all of the time, hence she’s exceptionally smooth when meeting new people. Fae can be painfully charming at times.
17: Do they have any guilty pleasures? They embarrassed about them? Do they flaunt them?
- Ateyla’s guilty pleasure is definitely admiring pretty women (see: Faerylie). She’s not the kind of individual that really delights in aesthetics, and she’s somewhere on the asexuality scale so she tends to try and hide it, even though it’s not something that happens a lot. Pointing it out is an easy was to mortify her.- Klivvik isn’t the kind of individual that experiences guilt over petty actions. They’ve been through enough to have come to a realisation that there’s rarely any reason to feel guilty for enjoying something, and Caerthys has always helped teach this.- Caerthys is the source of all guilt-free pleasure. She very openly shares the opinion that unless you’re harming others, there’s absolutely no reason to feel guilt or embarrassment for enjoying something, even if it’s not ‘usual’ for others of your kind to like it.- Tasia is very secretive of the things she enjoys, guilty or otherwise. Of everything though, she loves to dance. In the past she’d dance openly and publicly with her Late Warband, but now it’s something she really only reserves for when the mood strikes her. And even then, alone.- Faerylie’s most guilty pleasure, for a hardened warrior-turned-revenant, are super luxurious, decadent, over-indulgent baths. She loves steaming hot water and relaxing scents and all means of decorations and scrubs and soaps. She certainly doesn’t flaunt it, maybe keeps it as something private too (unless it’s from Ateyla who could join anytime. She falls under the over-indulgent part).
