Judas has a lot of resentment issues with father figures. Between his own dad and his younger brother’s dad, he genuinely does not do well with paternal figures. Bringing up either of the aforementioned fathers is the quickest way to get punched.
After his dad dipped out, Judas broke or burned nearly everything he had ever gotten from Luke. The only thing he kept was a single picture of him, Luke, and Eva sitting on top of the water tower during a meteor shower.

Judas knows he’s a mess. He knows the shit he gets into isn’t good for him. His biggest fear with his younger siblings is that they’ll turn out like him or Eva or mom. So he tries to intervene when he can, tries to lead a better example around them and fall apart when none of them are around.
Judas isn’t always the best person, but he tries damn hard to be there for his family. His siblings and his mom are everything to him and he’s more than willing to put himself out on a limb for them at any time. He doesn’t care if he gets hurt in the process, so long as the people he cares about are okay.
