23 de Abril de 1976 - Ramones lanza su álbum debut homónimo "Ramones". Después de que la editora de Hit Parader Magazine Lisa Robinson, vio a la banda en un concierto en la ciudad de Nueva York, escribió sobre ellos en un artículo y contactó a Danny Fields, insistiendo en que él fuera su manager. Fields estuvo de acuerdo y convenció a Craig Leon de producir Ramones, así la banda grabó una demo para posibles sellos discográficos. Leon persuadió al presidente del sello discográfico Sire, Seymour Stein para que escuchará la demo, y después de escucharlos le ofreció a la banda un contrato de grabación.
