This is my version of Jugo de Toloache, a formula from Mexican folk magic that literally means Juice of Toloache or Datura. In this case it is Datura innoxia. The scopolamine in datura and other nightshades like brugmansia is responsible for its hypnotic properties. It is a plant that is very much feared and respected and in some areas associated with brujería or sorcery. Scopolamine poisoning is a very real and dangerous thing in some parts of the world. Datura has also been used by many cultures as an aphrodisiac and has been used as an ingredient in love potions. There is a dark side to this in that some practitioners have used it in more coercive love magic. My formula is a safe an potent blend that can be used in love and sex magic, ecstatic trance, and other amorous arts. It is made by infusing datura seeds into red wine and adding other aphrodisiac ingredients. We can use the stimulating, warming and energizing qualities of aphrodisiacs to raise energy within ourselves for various ritual applications. When taken as a vibrational remedy it helps when dealing with issues of a sexual nature.
