There are numerous accounts of dragons stumbling upon a location in the Wastelands of Fire flight that should, reasonably, not exist - a grove of trees and other temperate vegetation surrounding a clean, freshwater pond. The plants and creatures encountered by the visitor all appear to be thriving and in good health, and the water of the pond is safe to drink, though most find it too chilly to swim.
Time, however, seems to be perpetually stuck in the nicest moments of autumn, much to the shock of visitors and the complete disinterest of the creatures of the grove.
The thing that makes this grove more peculiar than your average weird spot of magic doing weird things is that no two accounts for how to get there and where to find it are the same, and none of them prove to be accurate when tried. The logical conclusion is that the place moves around as it damn pleases, trees and water and all, and it has earned it the name of Runroot Grove amongst those that are aware of it, though the Grove itself hardly seems to be in any hurry.
Visitors are met with a single dragon that refers to itself as Juhar (pronunced “yu-har”). It is friendly and readily offers hospitality to any visitors as long as they do not harm the Grove (including any plants or creatures within it), and though some of its figures of speech have the tendency to unnerve some, it is not its intention.
Discussions of said figures of speech, as well as Juhar’s answers to questions on the matter point to the fact that Juhar isn’t just a consciousness residing in the body of a dragon. Exhanges such as “Who are you?” “I am this grove.” which seem avoidant or metaphorical at first are actually just the simple truth - the dragon, the animals, the plants, the whole grove is one consciousness inhabiting dozens upon dozens of bodies. Though they appear to act and exist separately, they’re about as separate as one’s tail is from their ear.
That said, Juhar does its best to understand the confusion surrounding its being and is perfectly content if visitors only converse with the dragon part of it.
