Interview with author JuiceCup - on  "To Our Happy Beginnings"

What inspired your story?

The wonderful fanart from Niki Frost entitled "A Happy Beginning". There was some great art to choose from--Swen in the fandom are so talented--but her piece spoke to me the most. The more I stared in awe at it, the more a story began take root in my mind. It was very exciting.

Let's get deep: why do you write?

To relieve the press of scenes in my head. I have always had an active imagination as a child, and daydreamed to my heart's content about anything and everything. I started writing stories as a young teenager, followed by creating an elaborate binding for my work and then distributing it among all my friends to read for fun. They really enjoyed it and that made me happy. Today, I write really because Swan Queen moves me to. Emma and Regina own quite a special place inside me and have inspired me in ways I never though possible.

Do you ever have conversations with your characters, and talk back to them?

No, I just write what's in my imagination.

What is your favorite type of writing to do?

I really like writing fluffy, romantic comedy. Stories that make readers laugh and are good for the heart and soul. I like writing short multi-chapters and one-shots mostly. I dream of writing that really long "novel-length" SQ story one day, but I am missing the time to really dedicate myself to it.

If you could live out one scene of your writing what would it be?

This is a really hard question to answer. With over 90 published fics and ficlets, there are literally a ton of scenes that I wish I could live out. In "Emma's Favorite Christmas Memory", there is a scene in the third section where Swan Queen are sitting on the sofa, sipping wine and checking each other out. The silent interaction happening between them is something that, I think, would be fun to witness up close and in person. Also, Regina Mills first eye-balling Emma curiously and then hungrily ogling her is a scene one would want to live out repeatedly!

How do you shape your characters?

They have already been shaped from watching them in the show for so long. I'm not pleased with the way the writers ultimately portrayed them in later seasons but I still carry are around the perception I obtained of from them in Season 1. They developed, softened and became vulnerable while still being strong and sassy.

All six-year old Henry Mills wanted was for someone to come along and make his mom happy. So, perched on his window sill, he made a wish on a shooting star to bring his mother her own personal hero. Enter new town Sheriff, Emma Swan, who he thinks is the answer to his prayers.

Someone has put Emma Swan under a Truth and Boldness Spell. However, Regina feels more like the victimized party as Emma spouts brazen confessions of love and admissions of attraction. Can Regina continue to hold the appealing Sheriff of Storybrooke at arms length? Does she even want to?

What if the Evil Queen were slipped a potion, allowing Regina to see inside her thoughts and to feel her actions for the purpose that our heroes could get a better idea of what their foe was planning? What if the Queen got drunk and decided to masturbate to thoughts of Emma Swan and Regina experienced everything that THAT entails... in FRONT of Emma?
