This morning I jumped on the scale expecting to see another loss. I was shocked to see a gain of .08 lbs. I spent most of the morning trying to figure out what I had done wrong the day before. Not enough water? Too much fruit juice? I felt like Charlie Brown when Lucy pulls the football out from under him.
But then I remembered something I had seen on one of Juicetails' videos. "Weight loss never goes down in straight line." See, she's been through this once before and has the knowledge that those of use just starting out are in desperate need of. If you are new to this like me, I highly recommend checking out her blog and videos. :)
So after finally climbing down from my ledge, I realized that even in any other weight loss regimen, there are going to be good days and bad days. As long as you keep moving forward, you are still ahead of the game.
In other news, I have been extremely irritable today. Perhaps my early morning disappointment just carried through the day. I think I will try to hit the hay a little earlier tonight.
JUICE: I have found my favorite juice blend and make about 3 quarts every evening. Kale, spinach, celery, cucumber, carrot, and apple.
DIABETES: My blood sugars have stayed consistently within my range of 80-160. I can't tell you how incredible that is for me. In fact, my 14 day blood glucose average is 111. ** My daily average for insulin is 92 units. Before I started this journey, my daily average for insulin was 273 units. ** That is HUGE! It is numbers like these that make me want to continue this. I know that eventually I will need to add back a meal or two a day. But it just proves to me that juicing is healing me, inside and out. Juicing will never be a cure for type 1 diabetes, but it can certainly help those of us living with this disease live a better life. The more control we have over diabetes and our blood glucose, the longer we will have with our loved ones.
