Legends for @jukebox-week (Bodyguard AU Cover story for a magazine where Julie announces she's dating Luke)
Shoutout to @pearlcaddy who reminded me when I had no ideas for what to post today that I have my own ever expanding universe that fits the Legends requirements.
I thought about just writing my next Bodyguard AU fic but then I thought...what if I do it through writing an article and then posting it in a font so tiny it's almost impossible to read?? That sounds fun right?? 😂

For Jukebox Appreciation Week. Been in the works for months. Glad to be able to finally share the drawing! Here’s a lil’ drabble to go with it.

"Oh my,"
Julie could hear Flynn mutter under her breath, loud enough for her to hear. They were still in class after all.
"What?" she whispered, scribbling down notes and half-paying attention to Mrs. Harrison's spiel about World War I.
Her best friend scooted in her desk and leaned in her direction, "A Greaser boy's eyeing you right now."
Julie's eyes widened and she turned to find out who when Flynn stopped her, "Don't. You can't show fear. Pretend you don't notice and maybe he'll stop."
She was right. Being on a greaser's radar didn't mean anything good. At least that’s what her dad would tell her. And honestly, the thought of any guy giving her the eyes during class unsettled her.
Especially if the guy had a switchblade on him.
Julie tried to resume note taking about Wilson's 14 points or whatever, but ever since Flynn had brought it up, she swore she could feel the weight of someone's stare.
Her best friend shouldn't have said anything because now she was very curious...
Slyly turning her head, she pretended to be looking at the maps in the back of the classroom.
And that was when she saw him.
There was no one else it could be. The only guy in the back of the class- the only greaser in the room, really. But Julie's focus had been shrunk to Flynn and her teacher since the semester started so she never noticed
The guy's legs were kicked up, hanging leisurely over the desk. He didn't have anything else. No supplies. He wasn't even paying attention to the lesson.
Instead, his piercing hazel eyes found hers.
He smiled.
She quickly turned around, ducking her head, her cheeks flaring up and her breathing now out of sorts.
Out of all the things her dad her told her about Greasers-
He had never mentioned how handsome they were...

it’s canon that “luke introduced [julie] to rock” and it’s implied canon that rose sent the phantoms to julie because “they were the ones who made [her] want to play music again” and rose “knew they could help” so therefore it’s canon that julie’s love for luke’s music is so fundamental to her passion for the craft, it has the power to ignite a spark in her no matter what stage she’s at in her life and regardless of circumstance.
