Don’t get distracted Julie. Keep your head down and just complete your ED rotation. It’s the only thing standing between you and graduation. Julie had been repeating the mantra in her head since Tía Victoria had convinced her to transfer to Northwestern from UCLA. But upon entering Gaffney Medical Center, she wasn’t expecting to meet Reggie Peters, an exuberant fellow medical student, who was also completing his ED rotation and wanted to go into pediatrics. Or his best friend, Luke Patterson-a second year trauma resident who seemed to have the same open wound with music that she did.
