I think the problem is when a person who calls themselves queer doesn’t respect when others don’t want to be called that. I don’t want to be referred to as a dyke by someone else, even someone who reclaimed it, bc it has been specifically used against me as a slur. I’m not going to refer to anyone else as one either, especially not knowing their own personal history with the word. Because it was a terrifying situation and I can never seperate that feeling from the word.
That’s fair. I just see so many posts that don’t even acknowledge that some people have claimed it: any and all opposition to the word is based entirely in “no one should ever use this and if you do you’re the problem.” It just seems so... counterproductive.
Because even in your argument, which is completely valid, you don’t want to be called d*ke, but you know there are people who have taken that and reclaimed it as theirs. And I think that’s what gets me about it all. It seems very targeted. You always have to be respectful of the ways people describe themselves, but for some rando to imply that all people (especially people I know personally) who have chosen to identify as q*eer are like... the enemy or something, that doesn’t sit well.
Like who does that benefit?

It's fucking cruel to fire someone ~after~ they've done all the hard labor.
That's why I barely speak to him when he comes to our store because he's a snake.

julesce replied to your post “wtf did screenprinters use before emulsion did they cut stencils?...”
Yes, stencils were mainly used, but I've heard of other techniques were they painted with glue or wax onto the screen too.

It could be interesting to roll with this plot point, though… like, your dating pool is narrowed down, but you still run the risk of getting with the wrong person… like, you both have each other’s names on your arms, but it turns out that this person and you are so incompatible and the breakup is so ugly and shitty that your real soulmate’s name is ruined for you forever. 27 chapters, 150,000 words, Angst.
alright who is in a fandom that has two people with the same name time to get the ball rolling lmao
