The park was fairly quiet around midday, especially when the high school was in session. Over the past week or so, Riley often found herself absently wandering the pathways during her break, or finding a bench to eat her lunch on.
The blonde wandered the grounds for a few minutes before spotting a somewhat familiar face sitting at a picnic table. Riley didn’t know his name, but he’d offered her smiles when they passed each other the nights that she closed the bookstore. Something about him intrigued her.
“Mind if I sit here?” she grinned at the man, gesturing to the seat across from him.
