Jumbo-Visma getting a women's team is very sexy of them
it's honestly pretty simple what is happening at the vuelta and that is that sepp wants to win BUT he doesn't want to be a charity case. and right now he's only the third best rider on jumbo-visma. he has said multiple times now that neither jonas nor primoz should hold back. tjv has told the riders that they should not wait for each other. if someone drops then they drop. today sepp went on the radio himself and told jonas and primoz to go for it. however, jonas chose to not attack primoz and simply followed in his wheel. in a danish post-race interview then he said that he'd like for sepp to keep the red jersey. however, it's also clear that jonas does not want to lose to primoz. he can live with sepp taking the red jersey because everyone will know that sepp won because of those three minutes he got in the breakaway. and jonas knows that this is once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for sepp. however, jonas would rather win the double tdf-vuelta than watch primoz win his fourth vuelta. i think jumbo-visma is playing it right. they have allowed sepp to be in the fight, but they are not gifting it to him in respect of allowing the strongest rider a shot at victory. none of them did anything wrong today.
