Watching him drown in his pain, she refused to be idle and grabbed his hand, intertwining their fingers together. Focused on his sky-blue eyes, she forgot about the pain shooting up from the open cut on her calf. Focusing hard enough, there was burst of green light that erupted from the palm of her hand and seeped into her partner. He grunted, his head rolling back as the healing spell coursed through his body, repairing flesh wounds coating his limbs and face.
"You will be the death of me," Queen murmured, scooting closer to him. With her other hand, she cupped his cheek and brought her lips to his. Biting down hard on his lip and hearing him groan in response, she soothed out the pain with a swipe of her tongue. As quickly as she kissed him, she pulled away, releasing her hand from his. "Our time’s running out. We should go."

All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was wreck me
Last year, she was the one to go abroad. He was heartbroken that their superiors had no regard for their personal affairs. Well, it was to be expected. They were candidates after all. And Queen was not one to defy orders. This year, he was the one sent away.
She leaned against her door, eyes wandering to her bed. The little moogles, Ami and Justin, were sound asleep under her covers. Watching them sleep so soundly caused an ache in her heart. Quietly, she made her way to her bed. She leaned over and stroked the cheek of Nine's moogle, little Justin. She wondered if Nine felt this way in her absence.
Probably.
He was the more passionate one between the two of them. Or rather, his passion was much more visible than hers. He lost his temper quickly over little things and in turn, she'd lose her temper at him for getting so upset.
They bickered like cats and dogs. They argued over anything and everything until they exhausted all the things they could possibly argue about. It turned into a game for him, how long it took for him to annoy her. It turned into how long she could stand his presence.
First, she couldn't stand beside him for a minute. As time passed, her tolerance of his stupidity grew. She almost didn't realize when she actually started to care. Cinque and Cater had to teased her in passing then, but it was Sice who hit her face first with the revelation.
'You're not fooling anyone, princess. You care about your idiot. 'Sides, he keeps you on your toes. Don't lie.' When she set Sice's cape on fire, they never spoke about it for a week.
And when she finally was in touch with her feelings, Miss Emina was the object of his affection. So she had hidden it but the teasing had gotten worse. She vaguely remembered being dragged in by the Intelligence Club after attempting to shut down their dorm party and being carried out by Nine, waking up with a terrible headache.
She remembered the confession she wrote. Maker, she choked upon the memory and was thankful that he'd never got to read it. It was incredibly cliché , but what was more cliché was the fact that the wind had set it adrift. To think that only happened in the novels she'd secretly read, she huffed. No matter, it had worked in her favor since she didn't actually need it.
She had confessed in person...after winning a spar. Correction: after she distracted him enough to draw first blood. Queen had pulled an unexpected move in her ever changing battle plan; she had kissed him. She argued that she wouldn't have done it unless she had no other ideas.
In all honesty, they had both known she could have won without her trick.
They didn't speak for a few days.
"Idiot. You were such an idiot." Queen wasn't sure if she was talking about him or herself. They had talked about relationships, feelings and eventually hers. They started dating in secret but what's a secret to Class Zero anyway?
They had their ups and downs, especially with Janus ripping them apart but he had fought. He had fought to stay with her. After all this time, he did his best to stay with her. Nine had broken her walls and made her feel vulnerable.
jumpdragoonjump replied to your post “You will always be the best and worst thing that happened to me.”
"'m not walkin' away," he answered, voice even as if devoid of any hurt; as if ignorant of whatever feelings she were harbouring beneath that perfect facade of hers. "I just came t' realise where my heart was - or rather, wasn't, oi."
The placement of the word always in his statement made her come up with two scenarios. The one in which he spoke was even. (She refused to look into his eyes as her resolve to stay and listen would fade the moment she did. but Queen could not help but imagine the worst case scenario in which he really broke it off and ended them.
Her throat was dry. She attempted to swallow to relieve the dryness of her throat and her anxious feelings, but that did absolutely nothing to calm her nerves. She put her hands together in front of her, lacing her fingers together, right thumb folded over left, stroking the back of her left palm. These anxious feelings were not leaving, especially as she listened to him, but was she really listening?
"That sounds especially vague coming from you." For someone so intelligent, she was stubborn when it came to matters of the heart.
