Jumper 3 Blind Run: Deaths by Ogmo tally
Full disclosure: near the end, I somehow got 447 deaths, including the off screen one mentioned at the start of part 5 and that one that I missed, when the game had 446 deaths listed, but I had a feeling that the leftover one was actually due to me adding in an extra one to Blue after the 8 deaths later part Roahm mentioned so I removed it in the tally for Blue to kinda correct that.
Red Ogmo: 54 deaths
Green Ogmo: 138 deaths
Pink Ogmo: 41 deaths
Blue Ogmo: 100 deaths
Yellow Ogmo: 111 deaths
Extra deaths: 2 deaths**
Gray Ogmo: 0 deaths*
It's only getting tougher from here on out
So I got Jumper 3 for myself and I have to say—I generally dislike platformers but this one's pretty swell (doesn't mean I magically acquired great platforming skills, though)
This track's pretty much engraved in my mind at this point, 4-4's got 591 deaths from me alone and not showing any relent. A gamepad sounds like a good investment at this point
Regardless, get the game and the soundtrack here, it's pretty great
Wow. . .
Yeah, while watching Roahm's blind run of Jumper 3, I had taken it upon myself to tally the number of deaths Roahm had gotten sorted by Ogmo color and I'm kinda surprised I was able to keep up with the current total because those chipmunk/sped up sections... yeah, those are a bit of a thing to keep track of. What does help out though is that occasionally in Roahm's videos he does show that file that has the total number of deaths which allows me to see if I had missed any or not and so far I haven't. There was that one extra death he mentioned at the start of Part 5 and after asking, he did mention that he thought it was Green Ogmo, but I'll just leave it as an extra for now.
So yeah, not only am I tallying the deaths, but also while Roahm has made various references with nicknaming the Ogmos, I've actually decided to make my own comparisons of the Ogmos, only comparing them to Mega Man characters (hopefully all robot masters from the Classic series, but if I have no choice but to check the X series, then so be it...) I might actually try to draw the robot masters in a way as if they were the ones in the Jumper 3 situation, going based on Roahm's run through the game.
So without further ado:
Current tally of deaths as of Part 11 of Roahmmythril's blind run!
(. . . I really need to come up with a better title for this)
Red Ogmo -> Bass with 20 deaths. Truth be told, this one was one of the hardest ones to make a comparison for as I was torn between Bass and Quick Man for Red Ogmo. Doesn't help that in Super Mario Bros. Crossover 2.1 I think it was, Quick Man is one of the character skins for Bass. Truth be told, it wasn't until Yellow Ogmo came along that I even HAD a chance to decide, and my reasoning will come later. If I were to draw Bass in this Jumper 3 situation based on Roahm's run as of the end of Part 11, he might just have a single Band-Aid or something like that, nothing too much in terms of signs of injury since he has the least number of deaths.
Green Ogmo -> Plant Man with a whopping 120 deaths. Poor guy. I chose Plant Man cause of the whole vine thing, but sometimes I did almost consider Clown Man because of the Thunder Claw being a grappling hook of sorts, but I personally wanted to go with more thematic sense and Plant Man's really the only robot master I can think of with vines as shown in his artwork and his Power Battle/Power Fighters sprite, even if he never uses it in the Classic series. His Battle Network counterpart on the other hand does use those vines of his, even if it's NOT for grappling purposes, but close enough I suppose. Heh... poor guy's probably going to be covered in bandages a good bit. Green Ogmo does have the most deaths so far.
Pink Ogmo -> Roll with 23 deaths. Mainly because Roahm compared Pink Ogmo to Princess Peach with the hover ability and I think both Roll and Peach are the main recurring female characters in their respective series. Now, if I were to use X series characters, I would've considered maybe Alia or Palette (apologies for any misspelled names), Alia for the same reason as Roll (possibly, I could be mistaken), and Palette cause she follows Axl's playstyle and Axl does have the hover, so unless I'm mistaken, I think Palette might have a hover of her own? I know there's at least one ability Axl has that Palette doesn't so I'll have to double check this information. But for the sake of the fact that Roahm doesn't like the X series and for consistency with which series I'll use for this idea, I'm sticking with Roll for Pink Ogmo for now. Roll's definitely going to have a single smaller bandage if I draw her in this situation, more like Bass in that sense since she only has three more deaths than he does.
Blue Ogmo -> Ice Man with 37 deaths. Mainly due to some mentions on Roahm's tumblr blog and also for the fact that Ice Man in Mega Man: Powered Up as a playable character can summon platforms that are temporary as well. I think Ice Man's also immune to ice physics but in a way different than that of Blue Ogmo. Ice Man might have two small bandages since blue Ogmo's pretty close to 40 deaths. Still, it could be worse
Yellow Ogmo -> Quick Man with a mean 87 deaths. Yeah, the reason why I chose Quick Man for Yellow Ogmo is because Roahm compared Yellow Ogmo to Super Sonic and well, Quick Man is one of the faster robot masters Wily's made. This is actually what allowed me to go with Bass for Red Ogmo, because I had found a spot for Quick Man to take that Bass can't really compete for either. Quick Man, eh heh heh, while he wouldn't be covered in as many bandages as poor Plant Man would be if I were to draw them all, Quick Man would have more visible bandages on him than the other three considering there's about 50 deaths difference between him and Ice Man.
Extra deaths: 1 extra death that Roahm mentioned at the start of Part 5. I did ask him and he seemed to indicate that he was sure that it was Green Ogmo, but then again, I'm not fully certain so I'm just leaving this as an extra death for now.
Yeah if I were to draw the robot masters in the Jumper 3 situation the basic injury signs that they'd show would be:
Bass -> one single small bandage on the cheek
Plant Man -> definitely covered with quite a few bandages. Possibly to the point where he'd look a bit like he was partly mummified or something. Green Ogmo has just that many deaths; first death, and as of the end of part 11, the only one who has actually gotten over 100 deaths by then. Ah ha ha... much as I hate to be sadistic, I'm practically looking forward to drawing out his reaction. Whether I post it or not will depend on whether I can get my pictures uploaded into my computer or not.
Roll -> Same as Bass, a single small bandage, but maybe on her arm or her leg considering the hovering ability. Yeah, I'll probably go with a different design (maybe make my own design? I'll have to make sure she's recognizable though) to allow her hover to make some sense. Possibly take some cues from RADIX of deviantart in the sense of her having an armor form for battle instead of her going in her cute dress like what Powered Up has at default (I'll need to look up the information to see what other outfit designs she has since I'm sure she has an armor form but more themed like a knight I think)
Ice Man -> two small bandages, one on his arm and one on his cheek I think will be what I'll go with. 37 deaths is close to 40 and I was hoping to use things like bandages to show the injury signs cause I want to make it work-safe while still showing how much they're suffering compared to each other.
Quick Man -> one bandage wrap around part of his arm, one bandage wrapped around his head. The latter is because of the rocket jump. I'd have to imagine that Quick Man would've been hitting his head on things enough in that situation that he would need his head checked to make sure there weren't too many injuries.
. . .
Again, sorry for the giant wall of text.
