I've been drawing dragons since I could hold a pencil and I legitimately just figured out how scales work (more or less). Still having problems with making scales look right where the torso meets the hip - any help would be appreciated!!

Hello! Thank you for the opportunity to learn more about dynamic anatomy. I would like to request the corrections are sent back privately, if that’s ok (submitter has OKed public post!). This is a rough pose and am hoping to see how I can improve. I’m struggling with the placement of the forearms and hands the most. I appreciate your guidance.
Thanks so much!
I think one thing I didn’t mention on the redline itself is - the most un-natural thing about the upper body (and maybe the reason you were worried about the arms) is the way the torso is facing. Although the lower body is tilted away from the viewer, the head and shoulders appear to be facing forward. This creates an uncomfortable symmetry in what is supposed to be a rather dynamic picture.
As usual, the best thing is to take photos of yourself - timed cameras are good when you need both of your hands! - and use them as reference for things you might not be so sure about. :)
