I have never seen High School Musical, so I’m sorry, I can’t speak for that… :(

But I can say that I have a very firm headcanon that Erik has a beautiful singing voice and Charles… well… does not. Erik, however, isn’t inclined to go around singing or anything so no one knows this. Charles on the other hand is that obnoxious person who sings along to everything (sometimes when he doesn’t even know the words!) 

It all comes out one day when Erik is singing in the shower and when he comes out he finds Charles staring at him with wonder. Charles tells him how beautiful his voice is and Erik is so embarrassed that he tries to flee from the conversation.

Years and years later when they’re married, sometimes when Charles has a really hard day, Erik will sing him to sleep.
