Brian Orser and Tracy Wilson on new programs

PJ: When you were strategizing for all of your skaters this year, some people have elected, as I've been talking to skaters, to keep their old programs and just kind of like tweak them up, some people have elected to come up with completely new programs as a way to sort of keep themselves stimulated and thinking and...so can you tell us about sort of your strategies for your different skaters?

Brian: Well, for Evgenia, she, she did have the time, because she had that horrible skate incident at Nationals so, she, that was the end of the road for her. So she already had some music in mind for the next season. And so she just went full steam ahead and, and went ahead and got her programs done. Because she had the time, she wanted to keep skating, she wanted to stay in shape, and so that's what we did.

So I mean, who knew that we'd have a global pandemic and that's you know, all the choreographers and skaters would be, would be separated. So we got that one sort of in the can, and then with the others, they've been able to do it by Zoom. I know that David Wilson did a program for Katia for her short program over Zoom. And with Jun-hwan Cha, he did a short program for him as well over Zoom, and did it, you know, from his house from each of their living rooms, and then Jun was on the ice, and then they would see how it shows from the living room to the ice, and they're really kind of- they're doing some amazing work actually.

Tracy: yes, yeah they are

Brian: And getting it done

Tracy: Yeah, and, and I think the strategy is different for each skater and what their goals are sort of moving forward. So, I know with Jason, he had the chance to work with Rohene in the States before he even came back to Canada, and they played with a couple of different short programs, So he has a few because he's really wanting to experiment with different styles and, and really make the most of this opportunity as a creative experience.
