[Perry tightens the grip on his mug. He wishes he hadn’t asked for the book. He sighs.]
“Well, Sam is kind. His penchant for chaos can be frustrating but he’s kinder than the two of us combined. He does his best to make sure his friends are happy, he tries to help as best he can. The only reason he was stealing from you in the first place was because I wanted him to. Besides I’m not the only one who cares about him. I doubt he’s going to bother you anymore anyway.”
{erm I rolled 17 on persuasion?}
(She fixes him with a hard look for a long moment, silent. Then she hums thoughtfully) Kind, hmm? You know kindness is hard to come by these days…
Alright. You’re lucky you caught me on a Sunday. See to it that I never see that thing again, otherwise it’ll be skinned alive.
(With that, she walks off.)
…
(When she returns to her tent, she glares at the raccoon dangling in midair in the middle of the space, directly over a cauldron.)
Most of the reason I’m letting you go is because I know it’ll annoy the shit out of Cecily. You come here again, I’ll make sure you never leave.
(She throws him unceremoniously out the entrance. As soon as it flies past the curtain, the magic floods back all at once, along with the primal urge to run as far from this place as possible.)
