           It was loud, and Elliot needed company for a new launch at Sephora. You’d think, because he works there, he’d get first dibs. But no, he had to go to the one just outside the city and wait in line for an hour. Why not bring company? Sitting and mildly flirting and checking his feed, Elliot was hungry, and waiting to get inside to grab his eyeshadow palette and leave. He couldn’t imagine Spencer was crazed about the situation either. He thought it was just going to be a nice afternoon. Now he had to deal with being dragged around a large store, using the tall figure as a shield to grab what he was looking for off the display. 

Gil were fucking crazy and he was about ready to throw a punch before he stopped. Nearly at the counter, he nearly ran into one who was searching for what he had. They were close to the counter. It was a jungle. He felt terrible for Spencer but it’s too late. He loomed over Elliot, and asked the dreaded question. He would not rope him into this.  “ I suggest you go wait out the door and i’ll handle this myself. If I tuck and roll the whole way these bitch can’t get me. Okay? One, two three, BREAK! “ and he was gone, blasting for the counter. He wanted lunch really badly.

{ ☔ } my muses reaction to opening their front door and seeing yours drenched in rain

when the doorbell rang at half past three in the morning, charlie wasn’t too certain about what it was she was supposed to expect. would it be kit, hugging his pillow to his chest, half asleep and looking all too shaken as he exaggerated about the army of spiders planning their attack? or perhaps even vince, stumbling about in his drunken haze, eyes dark with something deeper than alcohol as he stumbled into her home—- into her arms, an apology already slipping past his lips. even carson, with little ella in tow wouldn’t be too far of a stretch, for being an on-call made that of you. she even thought of delilah, her own baby girl held in arm as her eye bags worsened in the shallow lighting. there were plenty of reasons she could have found herself called from the comfort of her sheets, but of all of them, it was the one she could never have foretold that greeted her.

it doesn’t completely register at first. the shock of pale skin wrapped underneath the layers of soaked cotton, the haunted expression one all too terrifying to place upon the woman she’d come to adore so much. she wasn’t used to a june grey that didn’t exclude confidence in her every step, a woman who commanded armies for simply a smile sent their way. she knew june, and she knew the woman she was, and so seeing this hollowed shell of a woman, drenched and washed away—- it terrified her more than words could explain.

it took seconds, which she knew was those seconds too long, but with her feet once again grounded she jumped into motion.   ‘   c’mon, junebug—- let’s get you inside & dried off, yeah?? m’sure you could do with some warmth on your skin.   ’ gently leading her friend inside, she made sure to grab the fluffiest towels from her closet before she moved to help her friend get the worst of the water dried out.   ‘   a shower too, maybe? even a bath, if that’d be best. i can’t believe you’d want to go to bed smelling like rainwater & feeling so chilled. don’t worry about the water bills & just jump right in, alright?? you worry about getting warm & i’ll get you some clothes. i’ll have a cuppa waiting for you when you’re out, alright? take your time, junebug. & if you want to talk, we’ll talk, yes? & if not you’ll have some tea & head to sleep.   ’   she wasn’t certain about how much was getting through, but as she got a brittle smile in return for her efforts, & her friend shuffling into her bathroom, perhaps her friend was more coherent then she believed. 

her friend was doing her best to get her wits about her, and so the least charlie could do was attempt to do the same. billions of questions ran through her head as her shaking hands went through the motions of warming the kettle, but even so, she knew her friend, and she knew the last thing she’d need was for her to be a nosy nancy and pry. if she needed to talk, she would, and charlie would be there to listen, but until that point, the least she could do was whip her up a cuppa and give her a warm bed to sleep in.
