Letter
Written for @drarrymicrofic, prompt: letter, words: 233
23 January 2009 Draco I put a charm on this letter so it would only be sent if I fucked up things between us. I suppose that means I did, in fact, fuck up. So… sorry about that. I knew I would, eventually. You and I…we shouldn’t make sense, right? Except, to me, we do. I’m fairly certain I love you. All of you. That’s part of the problem. It’s terrifying. You always say I have courage in abundance, that it spills over and makes me reckless. But I’m not brave, Draco. I’m impulsive. The second I let myself think it through, I freeze. So I don’t. It’s easier to act and sort out the damage afterwards. There’s a reason the reports keep piling up on my desk. It’s not because I’m as hopelessly disorganised as you like to claim. I’m avoiding myself, I guess. They’ve become a sad paper trail of all my failures. God. That sounds pathetic. It might be the whisky. It made more sense in my head. I hope this letter never reaches you. But if it does, for what it’s worth, I’m so fucking sorry. Whatever I did, I hope you can forgive me. And if not, then I’m grateful for whatever time we had... - Harry
“Harry, for the love of all that’s…your dodgy charm malfunctioned, I think? I just received this old, bloody letter because we’re moving?”
