After 10 weeks of construction my treehouse is finally finished! ...well I’d actually like to do more, like build a zip line, swing seat and decorate it more, but time and money has run out and I’m leaving Peru in just over a week. It’s been an amazing and humbling experience, and I’ve learnt so much about myself and what it’s like to live in the jungle. I hope that many people, for many years, will enjoy spending the night (and day) in the treehouse 🥰 I dedicated the build to my late wife @ekarusa after receiving a message from her in a vision in an ayahuasca ceremony here back in July 🙏🏼 #treehouse #treehousemasters #jungletreehouse #ayahuasca #iquitos #tamshiyacu #peru #treehouselife #treehouseclub #treehouseliving #treehousehotel #treehousehome #treehousevilla #treehouselove #treehousedesign #treehouseperu #housetree #treehouseiquitos (at Mundo Yacuruna Healing Centre) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4sZAVMHxSo/?igshid=1qeq7875plvd6
Laos - The Gibbon Experience - Day Two
May 12 - We woke up with the first light - around 5:30am, eager to see Gibbon monkeys. We could hear their territorial calls (almost like a car alarm and slightly haunting), but no sight of any apes. We did however spot some very beautiful tropical birds (red, blue, yellow and green). After breakfast we set off with our guide to explore the other treehouses (more trekking and zip-lining!) We first visited Treehouse #3 which was a smaller treehouse meant for 4-5 people. Next we visited Treehouse #5, the tallest treehouse in the world, and were able to do a few zip-lining loops back and forth from it while our guides rested in the treehouse. We headed back to our treehouse (#7) for lunch and a rest and then went back out again, to visit Treehouse #1 (where the other group was staying). Just when we arrived we were able to catch faint glimpses of langur monkeys jumping through the trees. We learned that some people in the other group had seen some gibbons that morning from their treehouse. After our visit we headed back to our treehouse and showered off while we waited for dinner. After our delicious dinner was zip-lined in to our treehouse we watched the sunset again and then saw the glow of the forest fire off in the distance. Apparently it had been burning for nearly a week (it was particularly dry at this time of the year), but there was a large river that separated us from it. It did appear to be a little less bright. Far off in the distance we could see lightening and had a good show from our balcony. We were instructed to have our bags packed and ready to go in case we needed to evacuate in the middle of the night due to the storm. Thankfully that didn't happen!

Leah about to leave treehouse #5 - treehouse #5 is unique in that the in and out zip-lines do not take you to the same place, thus a 10 minute hike and a second zip-line are required to reach the “in” zip-line after taking the “out” zip-line

Leaving treehouse #5
Approaching treehouse #5 from the kitchen zip-line (another unique feature of treehouse #5, food is not delivered via the “in” zip-ilne instead the kitchen has a dedicated zip-line)
More zip-lining fun!
