Character moodboard: Jung Aeri
It's the first official day of being trainees for Haru and her friends. They meet some of the other girls that got into the company but are being put into different projects. Jia and Aeri were given vocal projects because they joined as vocal mains, Beom and Sua had to go meet with the choreographer and Haru was left alone to talk to a composer and producer of the company to begin working for their debut.
The building was large but not impossible to navigate, she passed the rooms her friends were in and she saw them already hard at work.
“Why did they set me up to talk to the producers, I'm a rapper not a composer?” she whispered to herself while looking for the room she was supposed to be in, allas she found it and knocked to go in.
A wave of relief washed over Haru and she saw that the composer and producer she was meant to talk to just happened to be two people she briefly spoke to. Before her were Park Jinwoo and Park MInhyuck of Astro, she bowed to them and greeted them so she did not come off rude.
“Uh- i was told to talk to you guys?” her voice was steady and calm but her hands were shaking and her heart was racing. Just her luck she has to spend her first work day with her company seniors.
But to her surprise she was told that she was chosen to produce and/or write some of her band's upcoming songs. She's definitely written songs before but not at a professional level, or for other people to hear. But she figured her song writing should be given a chance, and her producing skills were above average. So she figured, ‘why not’?
After her short briefing with JinJin and Rocky, she and her other members are told to come into a studio to meet their team manager and to go over some more things. When the girls all meet back in the studio they talk a bit about their day, all of the cool things they did and the people they talked to.
“Girls this is Nam Jaehyuck,” a member of the staff comes in and introduces the group to the man. He’s tall with dark features and he’s covered in tattoos, “he will be your new manager. However he is also a manager for an upcoming soloist so he lives with him.” The lady explains while the girls greet Jaehyuck, Haru however is listening for information because she knows that the other girls aren’t.
“You are being trusted to live alone with bi-weeekly visits to see if you indeed need a live-in manager,” she begins speaking to only Haru rather than the whole group. “And we have already figured out your positions in the group and we have a few options for a group name.” Hearing that Haru gets the attention of the other members so they can listen to their positions.
“So starting off, Haru you have been given the position of team leader, Lead rapper and producer.” The ladies' words completely shock Haru, leader? Why would anyone trust her to be a team leader?
“Sua, your position is lead dancer.” The lady looks up swiftly from her papers, “Beom you have the main rapper and main dancer. Jia you are the official face of the group along with the lead vocalist, rapper and dancer.”
“Oh my, why so many positions?” Jia asks the staff.
“Because you are skilled in all categories and you have visuals fit to be the face of the group.” She glosses over the information wanting to get to the next girl. “And Anna, I see that you changed your name legally to Aeri. You are the visual and a main rapper.” The staff flips her book closed, “any questions?” She asks and the members all shake their heads ‘no’.
And with that, the lady leaves the room. The girls are now alone with their manager. “I don’t have any strict rules, just think of me as a friend honestly. We’re all the same age here so it’s fine. If any of you have boyfriends or girlfriends I won’t tell on you, I’ll even drive you to dates. But do come to me if you want to release any information like dating or apologize for something Stan Twitter finds offensive even though it’s false information.” His vibe is much like Haru, he’s calm and put together but also carefree.
“Um she said we were gonna be given options for group names?” Sua asks Jaehyuck and he ‘ahs’
“I have them on my phone, it’s only three and they all have the same theme. So we have Nightmare, Nonstop, and No where. I’ll give you a bit to think of it, unless you have an answer right now.”
Haru says, “well I like Nightmare, It’s cool and has a dark vibe.” And Beom agrees to her statement.
“Yeah I like that one too, it's hard core!” Jia says Excitedly and Aeri nods.
“It’s not bad, it’s definitely the best out of all three.” Sua shrugs somewhat dismissing the new group name.
Haru looks over to see what’s wrong with Sua but she’s walking over to her bag and grabbing it; ready to leave.
“Well there you have it girls! You are officially Nightmare, so all you can do is work on a greeting, if you want a unique one.” Jaehyuck nods and claps, “we’re working on giving you a dorm room now so I suggest you begin packing your things. You’re all dismissed.”
And with that, Haru leaves the studio with her things to go down to the lobby. Because she wants to walk home to stop by a convenient store for some snacks.
“Hey! Haru!” A voice from behind her startles her a bit, but when she turns around she’s met with Sanha. “Hi! How was your first day? Rocky hyung told me you're a good producer! Do you have a group name yet? Or perhaps your positions yet?” Sanha bombards the girl with questions at an alarming rate.
She begins laughing at the younger man, “Sanha calm down, my first day was fine, yes we have a group name I don’t know if we can tell anyone yet, and yes I’m officially the team leader and lead rapper.” She is calmed by the presence of Sanha, she’s only known him for a few days but she already thinks of him as a friend.
“Oh that’s cool! If you have any questions I’m sure Jinjin hyung can help you, and if you want opinions on lyrics or songs we can all help, it’s like our jobs,” He jokes, laughing at himself.
Haru also laughs but more at Sanha finding himself so amusing, “hey are you done here yet? I was thinking of getting some snacks at the convenient store near by and you can come if you want.”
“I’d love to, let me go grab my bag! Wait here, it won't take long.”
