NUSA LEMBONGAN - THE ULTIMATE ADVENTURE (Day 1)
It’s not my very first time go to Nusa Lembongan, but it is first time I visit Nusa Lembongan with so many adventure plans by my own, not by the offering package of a trip service.
Standby at Sanur on 9 morning, departure with Scoot Cruise and arrive about 30 minutes later at Nusa Lembongan. Scoot Cruise or other fast boat cost about 50k to 100k for local/domestic passengers and or public boat that cost about 25k to 50k and takes about 2 hours to arrive at Lembongan.
Nusa Lembongan is so damn hot (literally), but it’s so f*cking exotic yet adventurous, suggesting you to don’t forget bringing the sunscreen with the available hi SPF if any (> SPF 30).
Check in at Oka 7 Bungalow that located in a hill at front of the Jungutbatu beach. Have to wait for an hour to get into the room, leave the baggage, take the important stuffs and camera for sure and starting the day 1 adventure. The budget for the room at this bungalow is about 500k and you won’t disappoint! It has very beautiful beach view from every room unit that separately one to another.
If you’re not an athlete or very passionate about it, please forget about rent a bike to go around Nusa Lembongan! Besides the weather is very hot, the landscape of Nusa Lembongan is consisting of hills. So, rent a motorbike, it just cost you about 60-70k per day at low season or 80-100k at hi one and it can take you everywhere effectively. Do not needs the helmet - as well as license (SIM) & insurance, so better wear your cap/fedora and sunglass when riding.
The first adventure point is started from North side, Jungutbatu Village, which is Mangrove Forest Trip. By paying 50k – 100k at local/domestic budget per person, you can surf along the Mangrove site with the traditional boat. It’s an adventurous trip, row the boat along the paths of Mangrove Forest, you can hear the birds are singing their own songs or even bugs. In the end of the road, you will find the sea with its very clear turquoise water which you can see the seaweed farm land under the sea. At the same place, you can do the snorkeling activity. Just ask the boat rider about the cost; it’s maybe about 100k-150k/person (boat and the equipment).
At the North side of Nusa Lembongan, you will find the exotic yet natural fisher and seaweed farmer village. You will admire it.
Next points is South side of Lembongan; Gala Gala Underground House by Made Byasa who build this house from 1961 – 1976, imagine how hard he had to dig the strong soil characteristic of Nusa Lembongan. It is so cool and fresh down there. It’s completed already with the lamps, but there’s still some dark places; my suggestion: just follow the light. One more, you’d better go there at quite time, not with so many people, because the place is pretty low, watch out your head! The entry cost is 10k for local/domestic.
There are some pretty beaches at Lembongan Village; Mushroom, Dream Beach, and Devil’s Tear. The last one is rocky beach. It’s really cool and extreme place. Why it’s called Devil’s Tear, because when the big wave meet the rocks, the cave below the rocks will send back the strong water splash complete with the very big and spooky sounds.
The day 1 adventure hasn’t finished yet. Next destination is …. Nusa Ceningan!!! This small beautiful island is connected to Nusa Lembongan side by narrow yellow bridge. This bridge can be through only by 1 bike. Nusa Ceningan has beautiful white sandy beach also. About an hour, you can go around this island by motorbike. There is nice point to be visited, the wallet cave and Mahana Point, a place for those who want to jump into the water and also a gate to surfer paddling to the middle.
Before sun is set, we decide to back to the hotel. A full day trip is not enough to make us sleep when meet the bed, the view is too good to be ignored. We enjoy the sunset view from the balcony where we can see the Jungutbatu beach, the Bali Island and the great Mt. Agung, till the time of Opening Party of Barbarella-Gomez, Mexican taste of Bar & Restaurant near to Mushroom Beach.
This perfect day is closed by sleep under the bright nite sky, fully of the stars. Recharge for tomorrow adventure.
