Mitchel Anderson is doing an Eagle Scout Project for Junior Guards. In recent years, older bike racks have been taken out because of rust and decay, and none have been installed to replace them. For his project, he is moving the old bike racks and installing U-shaped bike racks donated by Jax Bicycles and Saris and new surfboard-shaped bike racks, similar to the ones at the Civic Center. There will be 5 of the bike racks in the same colors as the Junior Guard ranks. The project will probably be about $3,000 with materials, concrete, food and a donor plaque (for those that donated $250+). This has been in planning for over a year and everyone involved is very excited to see this happen! The installation will take place on June 14th at Junior Lifeguard Headquarters. We will break ground at 5 am and if every thing goes as planned it will be finished by 10 am.
