My ass can’t draw but I wanna do some @brightgoat ‘s Standverse headcanons for Cleanup Man from the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure webseries/analog horror, Junius B

Canonically very in-sync and protective of D3 to the point where it’s sometimes telling D3 what to do so I know the separation is fucking Cleanup Man up

GER has to have this Mf in a infinite torture cell room somewhere bc the only thing keeping D3 away from the infinite deathloop in Junius B is that they hiding from Passione while also being a sea and continent away from Giovanna. Also refusing to fight Giovanna directly bc D3 knows they’ll get Insta killed most likely

If they are free, Cleanup Man is 100% Team King Crimson. Or, it’s Team Itself and a random third party that’s causing problems

Even tho D3 and Enrico Pucci have a very close surrogate father-child type relationship, I don’t think Whitesnake and Cleanup Man would be close bc D3 doesn’t even know he’s a Stand User (and Enrico doesn’t D3 is a Stand User). D3 is from the Ireneverse and Whitesnake is the OG Universe so Cleanup Man doesn’t even have a reference for Whitesnake’s Enrico Pucci. They’d probably still seek Whitesnake’s validation and love though.

It’s prior form, Gëek High, probably isn’t around because Cleanup Man is still Gëek High deep down. It’s just an advanced, more confident version

Speaking of, Cleanup Man probably wouldn’t be friendly with “Dreams and Nightmares” and “In My Car” just because the whole Passione Beef

Still just as terrified of Fugo and his Stand as D3 is.

Wouldn’t fuck with Killer Queen just because of who Killer Queen’s user is.

Definitely trying to be besties with The World. Probably not succeeding at it just bc of how intense Cleanup Man’s personality is.

Is completely neutral towards the Joestars’ Stands, outside of GER and Golden Experience

Probably thinks Golden Experience is a loser because Giovanna stopped using it in exchange for GER which is nothing like it. Also isn’t intimidated by Golden Experience bc I don’t think a fifteen year old D3 would be irked by a fifteen year old Giorno Giovanna—just given how drastically different their life paths were

Still physically weak as fuck

If Go Thru Trees is in the Standverse, Cleanup Man isn’t letting them out their sight. That’s their dead little brother’s Stand after all

New JuniusB episode and the end of the “Tha Block Is Hot” arc was so wild. Whole Stand Battle in a Wawa. The main character who’s been masc (and closeted trans) for the entire series finally decides to begin their FtM journey. Somebody gets hit with a glock switch full clip emptied at super close range and basically gets disintegrated. The Virginia Beach Cleanup Crew has such a cool design. Big FuGio vibes in this episode too (it’s set in the 2020s so you gotta love the heavily implied and obvious Middle Aged Man Yaoi)

Junius B [JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Analog Horror], 2022 - Present

I’ll support any JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fan project I find and generally speaking I like “Junius B” a lot. It’s also great to have an evil transmasc/gender-fluid protagonist lmao. The Passione Cleanup Crews all having their own lil color coordinated outfits is cool and it made me wonder what Josto had them dressing like. This my headcanon for their outfits personally, given that Josto and D3 wear yellow jackets in a lot of the flashbacks.

Rewatching the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Analog Horror, Junius B, and here are my theories for why/where Cleanup Man comes from. Because the Stand is similar to Koichi’s Stand, Echoes, in that it evolves with D3 as the story progresses.

Warning there’ll be heavy spoilers lol

Theory 1: The Personification of D3’s Unresolved Trauma

In the video “Don’t Be a Let Down”, we learn that after D3 spent the ages 15 to 20 in prison that they when they returned they were totally different.

According to Ozzy, D3 turned into an “antisocial and aggressive” person after their five year stint. And yeah, Ozzy was a tween at best when they were freed but we know that Cleanup Man/Geek High is an extremely violent and ruthless Stand. Hell, Cleanup Man is way more wild than D3 is. Flashbacks and characters make it pretty clear that even after that long sentence, D3 was still getting in trouble with the law up until they got their Stand.

We don’t know what those 5 years were like for D3, but I know that a teenager being in an adult prison wouldn’t be fun experience. So I wouldn’t be shocked if Cleanup Man is that side of D3 that they had to develop to survive the prison system and growing up poor in New Orleans.

Theory 2: It Symbolizes D3 Going Down The Same Path of Violence as Their Older Brother, Eddie

The “Eddie and D3 are similar” themes run deep. Literally, at the very beginning of Junius B (before we know who anybody is yet), we’re introduced to D3 via their Passione Street Name “Valen”. Eddie is a reference to Eddie Van Halen. Valen is just the band name combined. D3 and Eddie end up looking super alike too.

The series makes it super clear that the fallout of Eddie’s Serial Killer Activities are the defining event of D3’s childhood. It ruins any stability/security that their family had, it causes their family to be treated differently, and it torments a young D3 to the point where they start having angry outbursts. It wasn’t like D3 didn’t know all the fucked up details of Eddie’s actions because people told them everything, even if D3’s mom—Oksana—tried to protect them.

When D3 gets their Stand, Geek High, even though it has a pretty powerful mind control ability, they only use it to make people give them money. D3 never uses their Stand to hurt anybody before they get wrapped up with Malavita and Passione. Hell, they even directly state that it made them feel dirty. It’s stated time and time again in Louisiana Cleanup Crew that D3 has still has issues using the Stand for that prior to the Kiln Incident.

Only when D3 willingly goes down a very similar Serial Killer esque path does Geek High evolve into Cleanup Man.

All Ima say is that the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure webseries / analog horror does a great job of giving somebody an OP Stand but it never coming off as OP just bc of how it’s used.

Geek High/Cleanup Man is an total mind Stand. Like literally can make anybody do anything (once evolved, it has a random ass sphere of influence effect to where if used on a group leader, everybody else in said group follows the command), BUT D3 is so mf short sighted and self destructive that the Stand isn’t used for anything productive. Mf just wants to trap, so drugs, commit crimes, and make people give them their belongings.

Quite literally the most OP Social Setting Stand but all D3 does with it is steal, talk to it, and make mfs kill themselves.

If Giorno Giovanna had this Stand, Vento Aureo would’ve been over in a day but D3 doesn’t have any real goals outside of doing regular ass street shit. Even though Giorno and D3 are both in the criminal world, Giorno’s frame of reference is the mafia and D3’s is hustlers, trappers, and killers.

So like Giorno’s worldview on the streets is from the Italian mafia, and D3’s is The Wire or Paid In Full. But, D3 doesn’t get their Stand until early adulthood, meanwhile Giorno is 15 with Golden Experience Requiem.

Hell, at 15 years old, Giorno was taking over the mafia in a week. Meanwhile, D3 at 15 years old gets caught with heroin, a few thousand dollars, a dirty pistol and hollow tips so their ass gets thrown in prison for 5 years—becoming a felon as well as a high school dropout.

Speaking of a different Brando Brat, in a lot of ways, D3 is like a more competent and revenge driven Ungalo but I won’t get into that.

Alright so if you’re in the Analog Horror scene, or JJBA YouTube scene, maybe you’ve seen this thumbnail from the breakdown video by Marcelame the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Analog Horror, Junius B.

Maybe you’re like “Dio Returns? Lmao sounds cringey as fuck” and dawg I wanna say that I’ve been following this and other jjba analog horrors for a minute so I can confidently say that this analog horror has NOTHING to do with Dio Returning.

Junius B is a gangland revenge story.

Yes, Geek High/Cleanup Man have an eldritch horror nature to them but the very obvious real horror of Junius B is generational trauma, poverty, and the American healthcare system. That’s not even me diving into the really fucked up relationship between Malavita and D3

I totally understand why the “Dio Returns” marketing is there because how exactly do you market a jjba gangland revenge story about the lifelong negative impacts of poverty and abuse?

When I was yapping about this story in the past, I remember being like “it’s going to be difficult to sell Junius B just bc of how grounded it is and how much it asks of the audience”. Not to say that it’s perfect (it’s not) but analog horror doesn’t really have stories like this. I’ve never encountered an analog horror like Junius B.

Im trying hard not to spoil it but I really do respect the story even if it has its weak moments occasionally. D3 (the main protag and antagonist) really does seem like they exist outside of the story. There isn’t a ton of “ remember me” characters. Giorno Giovanna and Fugo Pannacotta have the most airtime but given that Passione is involved, I get it. Plus, they’re aged tf up bc it’s the mid 2020s so they feel like their own characters.

To conclude this: no, Junius B is not about Dio Brando’s return, it’s about gang beef and the cruelty of the American system. The main character is extremely self-destructive but you also lowkey feel for them bc the mf was kinda doomed since before their birth. I think that Junius b is really cool, but I don’t see it going the route that most analog horrors go just bc middle schoolers aren’t going to find it appealing.
