↳ Emily doesn’t know why Aubrey, a daughter of Zeus would want to be with her. Sure, children of Apollo have a smorgasbord of talents and abilities they inherited from their father, like healing and archery and music, but Aubrey can call literal lightning.

aubrey and emily become friends after chloe introduces them during their second year and while they don’t exactly hit it off right away, they do eventually become inseparable.

she’s sociable, has friends outside of her house, plays quidditch, and competes in gobstones on the regular
emily doesn’t quite know what she wants to do in life, she kind of wants to do everything and until she figures it out, she’s going to make the best of her hogwarts life just like her parents suggested
emily and aubrey meet their second year, chloe introduces them
they don’t exactly hit it off right away. aubrey finds emily unruly and disruptive because she’s kind of loud and doesn’t know when to stop talking, nor does she really understand social cues
nonetheless she’s chloe’s friend and they all attend the quidditch games together to see emily play and hang out afterwards
it’s around this year when her father’s untimely death occurs and that’s when aubrey really sets her heart on auror
she also puts up walls that even chloe has a hard time breaking down at times
it isn’t until the end of their third year that emily really starts to grow on her
by their fourth year aubrey’s quite fond of emily. emily’s grown a bit since her second year and aubrey’s grown to appreciate emily’s enthusiasm
by their fifth year aubrey develops feelings for emily
they spend a lot of time together and find they have similar study habits, so they study together
emily likes being close to aubrey and aubrey finds whatever emily wears everyday as far as perfume or cologne goes, emily smells amazing and she kind of can’t get enough
she likes the way emily laughs and the puns she tells even though they’re dumb sometimes. she likes that emily is competitive, but would never intentionally hurt someone and is a good sport over just about everything
she mostly likes that emily is kind and lives a little more freely than herself
although she’s entirely sure emily’s in love with her best friend benji who’s a gryffindor (Fight Me)
aubrey finds out that’s not the case after hufflepuff wins against ravenclaw in a quidditch tournament and emily comes running over and kisses aubrey out of sheer excitement
aubrey is shaken by it and doesn’t really have the time to react because emily’s already pulling away and apologizing, but aubrey’s quick to pull her back into a soft kiss

they spend the majority of their summer between their fifth and sixth year together
their sixth year is a bit rocky simply because of the stressors of taking their NEWT test
aubrey is terrified she won’t be able to become an auror, but emily assures her she’s one of the smartest witches she knows
still aubrey is a bit more distant their sixth year which in turn bothers emily a little because she misses her girlfriend
they have a few... disagreements because aubrey’s walls start to shoot up higher than ever
mostly because she’s afraid she won’t live up to her father’s expectations and that just won’t do for aubrey
a part of aubrey ends up pushing emily away in the process and while that hurts emily, emily holds onto the hope that it will blow over after the NEWTs
when aubrey takes her NEWT test auror just isn’t in her future. it kind of breaks her heart because while she knows she can still do what she wants at the end of the day, she knows that following the test is the best way she can be a productive member of society
still, aubrey holds onto the hope that maybe things will turn around
emily soothes her later with some tea, cuddles, and promises that life will still be good and that her father would still be proud
during their seventh year emily enters the triwizard tournament
aubrey is seething to say the least about it
“what kind of idiot enters the tournament, emily?!” // "i thought you wanted to be an auror i would THINK you'd compete in something like this." // "i’m not stupid it's dangerous, people die!" "so is being an auror, you’d have to take risks, aubrey!”
taken aback aubrey recalls that emily was still unsure about what to do with her life, but suddenly aubrey is wonder if emily wants to be an auror
“is that what you want to do in life?” aubrey asks softly
emily doesn’t quite say yes, but she doesn’t quite say no
aubrey walks away at emily’s response and leaving emily calling after her
it’s another three days before aubrey speaks to emily again and it’s the exact week before the tournament starts
“we never discussed your NEWT score because i was too upset over mine. if you want to be an auror that’s fine you know.”
emily sighs, turning away from her desk to face aubrey, “i don’t want to be an auror. i want to take care of dragons and other creatures. i just want to see if i can handle it by doing this because if i can’t then i’ll do something else.” // “emily you could die in this.” // “i won’t” // “i wish i had your confidence.”
the day of the first test emily kisses aubrey and tells her she’s going to win this one for her
aubrey just tells emily to make it out alive
emily does indeed win the first test and they completely and totally celebrate that
aubrey and emily end up celebrating with more than just drinks and food
they end up sneaking off and enjoying their first time together
the second test emily almost doesn’t make it and aubrey actually cries that night, worried for the girl she loves
emily doesn’t win the final test, but she makes it out alive and that’s all that really matters to aubrey
graduation is just around the corner and emily decides that she’s going to care for magical creatures
aubrey decides on going into security for the ministry
years later emily and aubrey get married and eventually adopt two children together
when aubrey tells her mother she’s head of security her mother is delighted by this and explains how proud her father would be
