RUBBER DUCK DECOY

Not sure why this random rubber duck decoy was on the lawn by the hospital...?

There were plenty of interesting shots of various items of junk. I felt too odd though taking pictures. That and for some reason, my focus was off and so most of the shots that I did take were out of focus.
Basically, we'll chalk up this day a fail.
WIP* CHAIR RESTORATION by kimartist
Sun getting low, so this is probably going to be the last coats for the day…
I usually set aside my cans of spray paint when they start getting low, because they start spitting globs of paint. However, spitting can be good when you’re at the right stage of painting & want some “texture.” (And this is how you get your money’s worth out of your art supplies, heh.)
Don’t worry, the globs aren’t going to look this obnoxious when I get through with the chalk paint, which is next.

Well, what do you know? Spray paint works MUCH better! 😎
WIP* CHAIR RESTORATION by kimartist
Found this fairly solid chair for free outside a shabby-chic-junktique-upcycle boutique type store (yes, I did ask if I could have it). Someone had already done the sanding, which is the part I hate. I think they gave up on it when they discovered it had been recovered 3 times (one right on top of the other) & had about 50,000 heavy-duty staples to remove. I was a little daunted by that myself & set it aside over the winter when it wasn’t practical to paint. However, I recently found out it was quite doable with the assistance of an office-type staple remover. Hee, looks like we might get a successful rehab after all. I’ve already done a couple of primer coats & am finally getting into my color (my favorite part). Some of the veneer on the seat back has warped & peeled off, but I thought it was done in an aesthetically-pleasing pattern, so it works for me, even if nobody ends up wanting to buy it. (I always try to work on stuff I won’t mind getting stuck with in a worst-case scenario.) I might gild that part - we’ll see.
