SCaLE17x Summary
Here’s a summary of our attendance at SCaLE17X. Overall, a huge success and can’t wait to see everyone again next year!
Aaron, System76 support rep preparing the new Oryx Pro with steam games for the conference to show off the RTX 20-Series Turing™ architecture. The video games were also a hit for the families. People were really surprised to see how thin and light the Oryx Pro was.
We had tons of prize drawings. One of them was this swag kit which included a Pop!_OS pint glass, a cable organizer pouch, and branded cables. We also had a ton of shirts to giveaway.
We had a crowd of people waiting in line to see if they won. Many were repeats. And we learned a lot about backpacks from one attendee who was eager to win a System76 Timbuktu messenger bag.
Below is a photo of Emma, our Support Manager, getting interviewed by Jill of the LinuxGameCast.
There were a lot of families at #SCaLE17x. Good thing Tux came with us to greet the kids. This little girl loved Tux and blew him kisses whenever she saw him.
Tux was counting down to Bad Voltage Live.
At the booth, we had Thelio’s internals on display along with the daughterboards.
This guy drove 14 hours just to see System76. We made sure he joined us for the community dinner.
Louisa Bisio, Marketing/Community Mgr gave a talk about THELIO manufacturing. She talks about the process and the future of open source hardware and software. The video of the talk is posted on SCaLE’s Youtube and her slides (with notes) can be found here.
Day 2 & 3 the crowd around the booth continues. Who will win a swag kit and who will win the backpack. A few people came to the booth to see if they win the io board coaster.
Saturday night Jupiter Broadcasting meetup is always a fun time! It’s great to see old friends and make new ones.
At the end of the conference, we found out that our booth won Most Interactive. Thanks everyone for voting for us.
