TW: Suicide Hi! So I'm going through a tough time at the moment. My Dad and stepmum carried out a suicide pact three weeks ago. I really do understand the reasons why they did it (Dad left a letter for the coroner explaining, and we knew the stress they were under anyway), but it's still tough. But I wanted to share something that might help any followers you have who are dealing with a loss from suicide. When I was talking to my psych the other day, I said "Looking back you can join the dots, but at the time you didn't even know they *were* dots. So you can't blame yourself for not seeing them then." Hindsight is always better than what we see in the moment. Nobody should ever feel guilty for missing a sign that they couldn't see until it was in a much fuller context. Take care, people. Much love. xx ~E
I think that is really helpful, thank you for sharing! 💚
I've personally struggled with blaming myself for not predicting something, or missing signs. But that's important to keep in mind.
I'm sorry you're going through this, sending you love 💚
