       in a surprising turn of events,  it’s mao who succumbs to sleep before ritsu does.   ritsu understands,  of course,  between his student council duties and idol activities,  mao must’ve overworked himself taking on more than he could handle.   and handled it anyway,  simply because it was mao.   ritsu takes off his jacket and places it gently over mao’s form,  laying down next to him in silence as he keeps his eyes on him.   it takes blinking to snap him out of the daze he’d been lulled into just by watching mao sleep,  and when he realises,  he feels a twinge of pain in his heart.   it doesn’t matter how much you love him,  the rational voice in his head says.   he won’t acknowledge it anyway,  the traitorous one,  immediately stamped down.   thinking was a hassle sometimes,  ritsu thinks,  and decides to stop.   he leans over,  plants a soft kiss in mao’s hair.       

       then,  he leaves.

          timbres  grumble  inside  indignant  chords  ,  eyes  roll  away  while  red  gradients  his  mien  .  to  be  reminded  of  ones  once  grave  mistake  ,  a  toy  on  his  YOUNG  and  NAIVE  heart  ;  feelings  exploited  to  such  extent  /  oh  he  was  made  a  fool  !!      ❛     i  would  appreciate  if  you’d  let  go  of  that  memory  out  of  your  HEAD  ,  senpai  .     ❜     he’s  not  even  answering  the  question  !!

   THE   FIRST   TIME   WAS   A   GENTLE   GESTURE.   she   had   been   resting   her   head   on   his   shoulder.   she   wasn’t   sure   if   it   was   intentional,   but   the   brushing   of   lips   upon   her   crown   was   unmistakable   .  .  .   however,   she   kept   shut.   she   didn’t   want   to   ruin   the   moment,   after   all.

  THE   SECOND   TIME   ————–   it   was   to   soothe   never   ending   tears.   heart   ache   was   never   meant   to   suit   her,   yet   her   only   solace   was   him.   hands   were   held,   yet   her   grip   was  weak.   yet,   her   knuckles   were   brought   to   his   lips,   and   even   though   at   the   moment   it   didn’t   seem   like   much   .  .  .   heart   ache   seemed   much   more   bearable.

  THE   THIRD   TIME   AROUND   .  .  .   it   was   her   turn.   after   such   a   great   performance   ————–   she   couldn’t   help   herself   !   she   brought   roses   and   his   favorite   snacks.   arms   were   soon   around   her   figure,   and   that   all   too   adorable   smile   .  .  .   despite   plenty   of   protests,   she   couldn’t   help   but   place   doting   pecks   ‘pon   his   precious   little   cheeks   !

   WHEN   THE   FOURTH   TIME   HAPPENED   ————-   kagome   wasn’t   sure   what   to   make   of   it.   sure,   it   was   just   a   play   .  .  .   but   their   proximity   was   undeniable.   (   who   cast   them   as   leads   again   ?   )   however,   it   was   the   cliche   kiss   scene   .  .  .   what   was   she   supposed   to   do   ?   she   wasn’t   nearly   on   par   as   he   was   .  .  .   however,   in   the   middle   of   the   scene,   as   if   on   cue,   hands   on   her   waist,   the   cliche   dip   .  .  .   he   leans   in.   acting   was   so   much   harder,   considering   how   she   started   to   feel.

   THE   FIFTH   AND   MOST   LIKELY   NOT   THE FINAL   TIME   .  .  .   kagome   was   frustrated.   couldn’t   he   see   when   a   girl   was   crushing   hard   ?   it   couldn’t   have   been   more   painfully   obvious   !   was   he   just   dense   ?   kagome   grabbed   him   by   the   collar   ————–   brows   furrowed   and   pout   evident   on   rose   -   pink   lips   !   cheeks   were   starting   to   flush   .  .  .   and   she   only   left   a   kiss   to   his   cheek.   she   was   just   as   cowardly   ————-   but   .  .  .   maybe   he’d   finally   get   the   hint   ?

         ❝  O - Oh,  well  actually  I’ve  lived  in  this  neighborhood  for  a  while  now.  ❞   He  stands  next  to  a  large  beast.  A  massive,  well  groomed,  well  fed  beast.  A  friendly,  kind,  and  slobbering  beast.  Emil’s  hand  was  idly  petting  the  top  of  the  saint  bernard’s  head,  the  dog  easily  sensing  the  nerves  that  were  over  taking  him.  He  hasn’t  been  out  of  the  house  in  a  while.  It’s  no  wonder  nobody  recognizes  him,  or  even  knew  he  existed.  Their  line  of  sight,  or  more  so  what  he  attempted  to  look  at  politely,  stared  straight  past  the  young  man  he was  speaking  to.  Pale  eyes  fluttered  before  glancing  around,  more  so  in  reaction  to  small  sounds  of  the  outdoors.  ❝  Um,  you  know  that  really  big  house  down  the  street?  Th - That’s  where  I  live!  I  don’t...  go  outside  very  often,  but  I  decided  to  today  because  Sebastian  said  it  was  nice  out.  Oh,  uh,  Sebastian’s  my  butler.  He  takes  care  of  me!  B - But  I  usually  walk  in  a  straight  line  up  and  down  here  so  I  don’t  get  lost... It’s  kind  of  boring. ❞

     “  so . . . do you think that i’m still up to some evil scheme ?  “   he grins to hokuto,  chin rested atop the palm of his hand as he waits for the response,  laughter barely held back at the thought of the strange yet amusing thought that somehow he’d tried befriending subaru for some nefarious plot.   /   @juryokv

     “  kaoru  ‘needs’  to date me . . .  “   kanata wastes no time getting the point of what he had wanted to talk to his friend about today,  and despite it he still has his usual smile on his face,  like he hadn’t said something so unexpected.   it doesn’t even cross his mind to give any context,  with the oddball instead looking expectantly to kaoru,  waiting for an answer.   /  @juryokv
