I'm rewatching Liftoff, my favourite episode I think, and god I wanna cry seeing CJ's utterly defeated look when she leaves Toby's office. Him saying following her direction is a colossal waste of time (just because he's purposefully making it a waste of time by picking candidates to review he already knows suck), outright mocking her with the "it's what? An order?" and her simply having to recognise "we all think I can't handle foreign policy. Had you thought any differently, you'd have said so." And you just !! God you can see her face fall while talking to him and then she walks back to her office and she just looks so done. It breaks my heart. The promotion of her damn life and even her closest friend doesn't think she's any good at it her first day. It's just so painful.

philip has erased, silenced and destroyed so much of the boiling isles’ history that no living creature knows what actually happened in the past. like. no one or their descendants knows what titans really are, what their role was, let alone anything about the “wild witches of the savage ages” like the boiling isles existed for possible centuries before he ended up there and once he got trapped in that world and things started going wrong he manipulated and gaslit everyone into conforming to his rules and anyone who didn’t was immediately killed. hell anyone who DID fall in line eventually died at his hand, too like. he really destroyed the histories and lives of i don’t know how many creatures again, and again, and again. and he kept this hidden, too. we’ve only seen glimpses of the boiling isles without his influence as emperor. history froze when he arrived, and who knows what stories creatures will tell now that he is possibly gone. now that the collector is free, they may not tell stories at all.
