Ugh. My mother is watching something about Jack the ripper and the people talking about psychotic and homicidal tendencies, and psychopaths and I made a comment under my breath because psychologists can get shit wrong. And they do with various conditions.
I had commented that homicidal tendencies just means you have the thoughts and urges. Not necessarily that you act on them, which my mother agreed but the second that I said that those who are psychotic aren't inheritantly violent, she gave me this fucking look like I was batshit.
She then "explained" that they have hallucinations and delusions as if that means that violence is a guarantee.
Someone being psychotic does not inheritantly mean that they're violent or a danger to others.
In fact the condition is defined by two characteristics, hallucinations and delusions.

Stop fucking "correcting" me when you're fucking wrong.
I can even use myself as a fucking example.
I experience psychosis, whether it be another condition or because of the severity of my diagnosed ones, and I haven't killed anyone. Yes I have anger issues, but I had those before I got bad, not because of the psychosis.
