Looks like I’m not helpless in debate :) I am a novice this year and I tried JV this weekend on a fluke since there was only one tournament scheduled for December and it was my last shot at arguing jury nullification, and I’m proud to say I got 4th seed, 5th speaker! No trophies but all the glory that came with it! I’m hooked, I’m going JV for the rest of this year. It’s so much more fun actually debating people who have proper constructions and can follow and pose all of those harder arguments.

alright imma tell a little story so I didnt break today bc i am a piece of shit but anyways im rlly protective of my novices and so one of my novices came up to me and said that in one of her rounds she had a judge that went to to same school as her opponent (this is novice division) and she was afraid that the judge was going to make a biased decision (which the judge did) and so she was a little tearful so I went to the tab room and told my coach what was up and he got her into a new round with the same opponent but a different judge and the old judge was wanting to come into the room and watch but my novice wasn't comfortable with that so she said no and I came into the room and she talked to me, and I obviously didn't watch the round and so I walked out and then the round started but the old judge and two other people were outside of the door and they were laughing bc my novice left her case outside of the room and her opponent flowed the entire thing without her knowledge (but the thing is that my coach told her to do this and she would use a different case in the actual room so basically this would be fucking with her opponent) so I directly said to the old judge and those hoes that it was a ploy case and the look on their faces was pure horror and it was amazing
