Honestly being grateful for what you have is good for mental health but framing it as "other people have it worse" not only makes you feel guilty but also I feel like it weakens your empathy. Like boomers will share a post of a starving child and be like "think YOUR day was bad, snowflake?" and then not do a damn thing to help end world hunger by donating/volunteering/raising awareness in a non condescending way. This says nothing about how depression can affect anyone of any socioeconomic status.
