Yeah, I know. That's kind of low-key bugged me about Undertale, because the goal was to bring the King a soul so he could become a god. If it was in pieces, it couldn't be used. So I've just chocked that up to separation of aesthetics and narrative.

If you want a throw away reason to fit both into the story, then I'm going to execute 'deus ex Chara'. If Frisk dies, they have a short amount of time to reach for their SAVE before their soul fades, but while they're sharing a body Chara can also activate Frisk's SAVES, giving them a safety net. In addition, Chara's presence causes Frisk's soul to produce more DETERMINATION to support both of them, so Frisk has a longer window than most other DETERINATION souls, anyways.

Long story short, it’s not going to be that easy for Henry.
