It's interesting that, even if Timon and Pumbaa have raised several kids, they never had more than one child at the time.
Did they found this change hard to hold with Tamika, Lina and Tombo, even if the count with Mya and Kanisha?
НАНАНАНАН I LOVE THIS QUESTION
Yeah, I imagine it was KIND OF A SHIT SHOW at first, I’m not gonna lie!!
Out of all the kiddos, Lina and Tombo are technically the oldest, even though Kanisha was actually pregnant with Tamika first. Warthog pregnancies run about 5–6 months, while meerkat pregnancies are closer to 3, so the meerkat twins arrived sooner.
Tamika was the “planned baby.” They all agreed it’d be fun to have one or two more kids, plus give (adult) Bunga a baby warthog sibling to dote on. Timon was totally cool with that plan, feeling like he understood warthogs pretty well. He figured a warthog baby would be a piece of cake. They’re born able to walk and run right away, so that felt like a win. He honestly had zero plans of raising meerkat pups. Not because he didn’t love kids, (he does!!), but because the idea made his stomach knot in ways he REALLY DIDN’T WANT TO UNPACK.
So when Mya ended up pregnant (oops), he went into SHOCK. And, as the pregnancy progressed, and she pointed out she could tell more than one pup was squirming around in there, he had a full-blown panic attack. Suddenly the plan went from one warthog kid to a warthog PLUS two helpless meerkat pups.
Pumbaa, meanwhile, was thrilled at the idea of raising meerkat pups, even if he was a little frustrated with Timon for the timing. (And yeah, every meerkat pup, including baby Kimya, who would come later, was a happy little accident. AHAHAHAHA!)
There were definitely sleepless nights, bloodshot eyes, and a whole lot of “WHAT DID WE DO TO OURSELVES,” but having Mya and Kanisha in the mix helped keep everyone afloat. And of course, I like to think that Bunga, Binga, and even Simba and Nala dropped in to lend a paw whenever things got overwhelming.
