the problem was trying too hard to make the comic about Serious Things and it was a huge tone shift
you know what, i had a huge thing written that i just scrapped, i can’t articulate every feeling i get and sometimes i put too much emotion into things. i wanted to talk about how the comic felt genuine to me, and then went looking for that bit in its description where tim buckley talks about his own experience with miscarriage only to find that he didn’t really feel as much loss due to the relationship the pregnancy came out of and all that, and that he kind of did it to test what he could do with his comic
i still don’t think it deserves the treatment it gets though. i just don’t have an argument to stand on for that anymore, what else is new
