I am just a side
I feel like I was an afterthought. Like someone just decided that more carbs would look good next to a pile of slightly burnt, not completely over hard eggs. Just teetering on the edge of a plate, that is long past it’s retirement, hoping that I would be noticed. Of course I won’t be and will find myself tumbling off the edge of the plate to my death. At least that is what I will think until I am placed cautiously back on the plate now covered in who knows what from the table or even worse the ground. This is my life. I am just an afterthought. You think you’re fine but then you mess up only to be picked up again in worse shape than when you started. I am the toast.
