      he  had  been  paid  to  steal  some  fancy  art  work  by  some  art  snob  -  something  that  should  have  been  relatively  easy.  stealing,  compared  to  hitman  work,  is  a  breeze.  he  hates  heroes  though.  it’s  not  the  first  time  someone’s  tried  to  stop  him  in  the  middle  of  a  job,  but  it  is  his  first  encounter  with  spiderman.  when  he  hears  him,  he  quickly  spins  around,  hand  on  his  gun  and  ready  to  draw  if  needed.  everything’s  been  going  wrong  today,  it  really  should  have  been  a  sign.  ❛  alright,  bughead,  ❜  the  words  are  said  with  annoyance,  ❛  i  don’t  wanna  fight  so  just  back  down  now.  ❜  he’s  confident  in  his  abilities,  he’s  anything  but  human  anymore,  but  he  doesn’t  know  the  other’s  skill  set  well  enough.  if  he  can  avoid  a  fight,  all  the  better  for  him.

steve  enjoyed  eating  just  a  few  blocks  down  from  the  avengers  tower  ;  it  was  a  spot  worth  drawing  ,  even  if  he  found  tony’s  architectural  choices  questionable.            so  he’s  at  this  little  diner  ,  sitting  outside  with  his  sketchbook  &  some  tea  like  the  old  man  he  is.             there’s  a  moment  where  he  thinks  the  clouds  are  just  in  the  way  ,  but  when  he  glances  up  ,  there’s  a  whole  kid  there.          he  blinks  ,   takes  a  second  to  register  that  peter  wants  something  ,  then  he  sighs  &  arches  a  brow  with a  tired  smile.          IT’S  HIS  DAY  OFF.

DEEP   BREATH   TAKEN.   hands   rest   on   his   hips   for   a   moment   but   facial   expression   never   changes.   he   refuses   to   judge,   refuses   to   roll   his   eyes   at   ᵃ   ˢᶤᵐᵖˡᵉ   ᵐᶤˢᵗᵃᵏᵉ.   had   been   in   his   shoes   once   too   often,   even   when   long   ago.   “   doesn’t   look   good,   man   ...   “   palm   still   comes   up   to   rest   on   peter’s   shoulder.   “   let’s   fix   it   anyway.   –   –   𝙸   𝚆𝙸𝙻𝙻   𝙷𝙴𝙻𝙿   𝚈𝙾𝚄.   𝚈𝙾𝚄. “

         ❛  okay,  bear  with  me  on  this.  ❜  he’s  trying  to  psyche  himself  up.  it’s  been  a  while  since  he’s  had  to  ask  anyone  out.  well  actually,  he  can’t  recall  the  last  time  he  has.  so  consider  him  rusty  at  this.   ❛  are  you  free  anytime  soon?  ❜  he  bounces  on  his  heels,  feeling  the  sensation  of  butterflies  in  his  stomach  as  his  nerves  build  up.   why’s  he  so  nervous?  worst  he  can  say  is  no.   ❛  ‘cause  i  was  thinking  if  you  were  and  you  were  up  for  it,  i  ---  ❜  a  pause  as  he  thinks  of  how  exactly  he  wants  to  word  this,   ❛  we  could  go  out.  or  i  could  cook  for  you.  like  a  date.  ❜  not  his  best  work,  but  again  -  he’s  rusty.

❛   night terrors .   hold  my  muse  after  they  wake  up  from  a  nightmare . + reverse | @justaspiderguy​

when   she   first   brought   peter   home,   peggy   was   used   to   the   sound   of   his   screams   in   the   middle   of   the   night   .   but   it’s   been   five   years   and   the   night   terrors   have   nearly   stopped   .   at   least,   she   thought   they   did   .   until   she   was   awoken   by   screaming   once   again   .   she   throws   off   the   covers   ,   pulls   one   of   steve’s   t-shirts   and   a   pair   of   shorts   on   before   rushing   down   the   hall   to   her   oldest   son’s   room.   he’s   asleep   still,   but   she   can   see   the   tears   streaming   down   his   face   .   “   peter   ,   hey,   ”   words   are   spoken   softy   as   manicured   nails   brush   a   lock   of   hair   off   his   sweaty   face   .   “   you’re   okay   .   mum’s   here   now   .   nothing   is   going   to   get   you.   ”

laughter   echos   around   the   living   room   .   “   i   would   have   a   lot   less   grey   hair,   for   one.   i   would   get   a   lot   more   sleep   .   wouldn’t   have   to   worry   about   you   not   catching   yourself   when   you   fall   off   of   a   building   .”   the   playful   tone   turns   serious   .   “   but   our   lives   would   have   a   lot   less   love   in   it   .   our   family   wouldn’t   be   complete   without   you   .”

“   peter.   ”   his   name   is   spoken   softly   as   she   kneels   in   front   of   him   ,   her   hands   on   his   knees.   “   you   don’t   need   to   feel   guilty   .   nothing   in   your   life   has   been   your   fault.   your   parents,   your   aunt   and   uncle   ,   you   becoming   spiderman.   none   of   that   was   in   your   control   .   you   could’ve   made   better   choices   by   telling   me   about   that   last   part,   but   it’s   nothing   to   feel   guilty   about   .”
