Happy Halloween!
The hairy struggle continues...
Part of me feels this is a rebellious response to how my family are taking to the bearded movement. The other part is purely experimentation to see how far, or long I can take this thing (pun totally intended).
At first, it was just a whim that lead me down this path of justbeardness, but as the days progress and feedback pours in with every glance and interaction, I feel it is having the desired change already. Or at least it's getting folks to talk about it and consider the angle I've proposed. That's a start.
End game? Not sure. But let's see what happens when I arrive at JFK next...will they or will they not treat me any differently than when I had just a bit of scruff on my chin.
I'll tell you what though...it's hella fun to see people's reactions.
Does growing a beard need a movement?
Short answer, Yes.
But the real effort is to answer questions people ask - not necessarily because they are seeking clarification or justification, but rather tending to curiosity.
I encourage it. In fact, I notice that the longer the situation grows, the more people are impressed and intrigued. More people want to know, keep track of progress and suggest ideas on beatification. It's all good.
There will always be those against it in principle, for whatever reason. But my aim is simply to create positive awareness for a free and liberated beard.
I think it's catching on... see for yourself here fb.com/JustBeard
