So much this song..I nearly fell to my knees when I heard it the other day.  It just summarizes my thoughts and feelings so well.  

Tragedy in life hit me out of nowhere and truly made me question almost everything I believed in.  It shook my faith to the core and caused me to hit rock bottom so to speak spiritually.  While I don’t truly understand why it had to happen, I am grateful to be alive and healthy enough to raise my baby boy.  

Since I am a person that has trouble letting go, it was so hard to lay it down and surrender it all to Jesus like I know I should.  It is so easy for us to be distracted by the chaos and size of our storms that we take our eyes off of Jesus and try and take the storm head on by ourselves.  Time and time again I have attempted to take on the storms alone.  Perhaps this is due to my need to “ control” when the simple solution is to let go, stop holding on and just be held. 

In time, I hope I understand.  I know God will make beauty with the ashes, but in His timing, not mine.

Day #21 of 30 Days of Gratitude - Now I could have went the easy route and said my wedding song ("Then" by Brad Paisley) was one I was most grateful for or even "You are my sunshine" because I sing that to Lily all the time and her little smile makes my heart melt. But this song - "Just Be Held" by Casting Crowns - is my reminder of God's goodness no matter what life throws my way. When I listen to it, if I'm feeling down, my hope is restored. I'm reminded that I don't need to carry all my burdens alone. I can leave all my stress, fear, and worries at the cross and Jesus will hold me in His perfect love. I know it sounds crazy to those who are non-believers, but that's the truth 😊💕 Just take a second and listen to the lyrics and maybe you'll understand.
