To everyone who believes that they should not have to be afraid of being raped, please for your own safety understand this. There are people out there who do not have moral standards and are willing to rape, and no matter how hard you believe, no matter how hard you try to create a world where you do not have to be afraid of being raped, there will always be someone who is willing to rape you. I in no way condone rape and I believe that every rapist on the face of the earth deserves a fate worse than death, but please understand that blogging about this issue and protesting against this issue will never make rape an impossibility, so please do not get the idea that rapists will one day cease to exist, cause the sad truth is that day will never happen. I do not believe that I should feel the need to lock my doors from fear of having my personal belongings stolen, yet I lock all of my doors because the possibility is there, and no matter how hard I believe this to be true, the possibility will always be there.
Most of the time it happens from someone the victim trusts, and unfortunately it is not easy to read what a persons’ true intentions always are, and it can be unavoidable unfortunately. For those people, understand it is not your fault and you can not always read people and know what to do to avoid it from happening. But make sure they are put behind bars to ensure that no one else will be hurt by them.
It is possible to take precautions in certain scenarios, and I do not want anyone being put in a scenario where they have been raped and it could have been avoided by taking precautions. I am not saying that anyone is ever asking to be raped, I am simply saying there are precautions you can take, and I believe those precautions should always be taken for your own safety. For fucks sake I do not even go out in the middle of the night at all, just from the fear of becoming the victim of a crime. The fear is real, it is not going away, and it never will. Please just be safe.
