A body of water, perfect. Cyn exhaled a soft sigh, stepping closer to the water's edge. He slipped his black cloak off and draped it over a nearby tree branch. Next was his sash, which held a small pouch and his whip, and that was placed upon the branch next to his cloak. The weather was perfect for relaxation!
The Incubus waded into the water, up to his chest. His lavender wings spread out wide, and he decided to fully submerge himself. Face first and arms outstretched in front of himself, Cyn plunged into the water.
It was pleasantly chill against his body, feeling it flow over his skin through his hair. Lavender eyes drift closed, turning himself around so that when he floated back up, he could breathe. Once he surfaced, his eyes reopen.
The sky is bright blue, not a single cloud in the sky.
At least, it would be if Cyn wasn't a sub-species of monster. They would be attracted to him lounging around carelessly in an open body of water. He righted himself, placing his feet upon the ground and no longer allowing himself to float.
Small bodies of water like this attract monsters needing a brief moment of reprieve, to drink the water and perhaps grab a snack in the fish that swam around.
Cyn didn't need to stay in the water for very long, not that he ever got too dirty. He slowly made his way back out of the water, but paused.
Where was his cloak and sash?
The Incubus's brow furrowed a bit, glancing around. How odd. Where did they go? There aren't any monsters nearby that are intelligent enough to want to mess with it, and no people are around-- if there were, the monsters would be acting up trying to get to them.
So much for relaxation. Cyn rolled his eyes. Looks like he's going to have to try and find his stuff before--
There's a sudden noise, one Cyn recognizes as an arrow being released from a bow... which was quickly followed by said arrow plunging into his chest. The Incubus stumbled back a step upon being shot, his lavender eyes widening just a bit before glancing down.
It was perfectly through his ribs, right where his heart is at.
A slow blink. Everything was beginning to slow down around him, the ambient noises of the forest starting to fade. Cyn reached a hand up, to grip the arrow but he didn't have the strength to pull it out.
Movement caught his attention. His gaze shifted up, his vision having blurred so badly that all he caught was something red and orange. It was cautiously coming out of the tree-line.
Cyn's eyes rolled, tipping backwards and falling to the ground with a painful thump.
"This is === ? Lame. I ex====== mo==."
They're right beside me...
"Wonder == I can ==== it?"
Their voice is getting clearer.
"I could probably cut his wings and sell as quality leather."
"Lets s--- You're awake!?"
Cyn's eyes had been open, and slowly his vision was beginning to recover. As the being beside him yelped and scrambled away, he turned his head to see them more clearly.
"I-I staked you through the heart! You were dead!!" They stammered, eyes widened in pure shock and terror.
Cyn recognized their species; a rare sub-breed of Vipera known as Drago-Vipera. Reason being is their dragon-like appearance in comparison to normal Vipera. They are donned with wings, horns, and talons.
The Incubus jolted when he saw them grabbing for an actual wooden stake, lavender eyes widening. The Drago-Vipera had snatched up the sharp piece of wood, closing the gap between them and Cyn, straddling and trying to shove it through his chest once more.
Despite not being at full strength, Cyn was able to keep them from stabbing it through his chest.
"You shouldn't be alive!" they yelled out.
The Incubus couldn't respond, all of his focus was going into making sure they did not stab him through the heart again. His chest ached, his stomach hurt, his mind was whirling with everything that was going on.
He was shot through the heart, how was he not dead?
That's something he's going to have to figure out later.
"You smell vile!" the Drago-Vipera spat out, their muzzle scrunching up.
Cyn sucked in a sharp breath and held it. He firmly planted his feet on the ground and used all his core strength to throw his hips upwards. This caused the Drago-Vipera to startle and fall forward onto him. They had dropped the stake, to try and catch themself, but that's precisely what Cyn wanted. Now that he didn't have to try and stop them from stabbing him, he's able to grab their arms, lift one leg up and roughly roll them both over so that he was on top.
The Incubus kept the Drago-Vipera roughly pinned to the ground, panting heavily as he stared down at them.
They had bright blue eyes, that was such a stark contrast to their fiery red scaled body and golden orange underbelly. Horns and talons were a matching golden orange.
"You're hurting my wings!" they griped, trying to struggle against Cyn's grip.
'You're hurting my wings!' Cyn's own voice echoed in his head. He blinked a few times before shaking his head, letting the Drago-Vipera go and standing up. The Incubus was still above them, one foot on each side of their hip though being sure not to step upon their wings.
They remained laying on the ground, though shifted just a bit so that they weren't laying directly on top of their own wings.
"What are you...?" they questioned in a quiet tone of voice, full of worry. "You're not a vampire... a vampire would have stayed dead..."
"A vampire is also lighter in complexion than I am." Cyn added casually, lifting his arms a bit and leaving them outstretched with his fingers splayed out. Such a deliciously warm chocolate hue.
There was a moment of silence between the two of them. Cyn could see the Drago-Vipera thinking, the way they stared hard at him with those piercing sky-blue eyes. Their long scaled tail slowly swayed back and forth.
"What are you?" they finally questioned.
"A monster." Cyn responded calmly, taking a step back so that they could get up.
"No shit." the Drago-Vipera growled, glaring up at him. "No person could come back to life like that. I shot you through the heart with my arrow, and then I broke your ribs when I staked you, but you still somehow healed and got your strength back like what I did you was nothing. You're immortal, aren't you?"
'Sort of,' Cyn had wanted to answer. He knew full well he could die, just not by old age. This though? Coming back to life after dying? Unfathomable. "You could say that." the Incubus finally answered.
"So what are you?" Again.
Cyn was expecting what he usually received upon stating such; fear, panic, anger, screaming... what he got was not that.
"No you're not. Incubi and Succubi are extinct." the Drago-Vipera rolled their eyes. "If you were, you'd have a tail."
The Incubus blinked. He reached his hands behind himself, to pull at the waistband of his pants and allowed his tail to flick free from it's confines. The long, lavender hued spaded tail then swayed from side to side.
Sky-blue eyes widened in quick realization. "Oh..." was all they said. "I... guess your kind... isn't extinct." They glanced back up at Cyn. "Why aren't you mating me to death then? Isn't that what your kind does?"
That was more what he expected.
"Actually--" Cyn began, to explain better, but the Drago-Vipera cut him off.
"I heard that you receive the best orgasm of your life when you get mated by an Incubus... you know, before you die." they added with a careless shrug. Cyn shut his mouth. "I wonder how some people know that when you supposedly die after getting mated. Do they have someone watching, that can gauge their orgasm before they perish? How do you measure an orgasm anyways?"
Cyn is mildly curious, that they don't seem to be afraid rather... intrigued by the myths.
Also curious as to why they were trying to kill him to begin with.
"I bet you've had many orgasms, huh?"
Cyn blinked. "I don't orgasm."
"You don't orgasm??" They were appalled. "Does it even feel good for you??"
"So how do you know when, you know, when you're done if you don't orgasm?"
Cyn slowly inhaled, feeling a faint ache in his torso as his lungs caused his chest to expand. "When I'm full."
"When you're full?" They looked unamused.
"But you just said--!!" The Drago-Vipera proceeded to clap their paws together, their talons clicking as they clacked against each other. "Coming is orgasming!
"Not for us." Cyn crossed his arms over his chest. His stomach was hurting... no doubt his scent was growing stronger. "It's a release of fluid that is similar to a male's, in that it can get Succubi pregnant, but it's not a climax due to feeling good. It's a signal that we're full so that we don't overfeed."
They did not look convinced.
"I can come by giving oral to another." Cyn added. "Because I'm still feeding, despite not engaging in sexual mating. Only thing is that it takes longer to become full that way."
"I'd ask you to demonstrate, but I don't want to die."
"About that," The Incubus unfolded his arms, reaching a hand up and rubbed the back of his neck. "So long as we have consent, we can engage in mating without killing. What causes the people to die is when we use our powers of seduction, which rewires your brain and forces you into wanting to engage in mating."
"I don't believe you." The Dragon-Vipera scoffed. "Sounds like a ploy to lure others into bed with you."
"That's what others think too." Cyn didn't mind. The stigma is older than he is. "But enough about that," He straightened himself out a bit. "Why were you trying to kill me anyways?"
"Oh, that..." They avoided eye contact, reaching a talon up to lightly scritch their cheek. "Someone spotted you outside of the walls nearby, thought you were a vampire. There was a bounty to take you out, so I decided to try my hand."
Cyn closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. What a pain.
"I was in need of gold." they added quietly. "So it's nothing personal, I was just doing what I could to get by."
"That's why you wanted to cut up my wings and sell the leather?"
"Was about the only thing I did hear."
"Not like you would have gotten much. Doubt anyone is going to take scarred up leather."
"Scarred? What happen to your wings?"
'You're hurting my wings!' His voice echoed in his head once more. Cyn simply shrugged. "Don't remember. It was a long time ago. Long before you were born, I'm sure."
"Hah, yeah." An awkward chuckle from the Drago-Vipera.
"I have some gold you can take." Cyn whispered, gesturing with his head towards his pouch that was near the Drago-Vipera. "I tend to keep enough for a night at an inn, with some extra for 'just in case'."
The Drago-Vipera's eyes widened, turning towards Cyn. "Really? You'd just give it to me? I can pay you back--"
"Don't worry about it." Cyn assured, lightly waving his hand towards them. "Take what you need and head back to the walls."
"Oh, thank you." They carefully opened up the small pouch and began fishing out the gold from inside. Once they grabbed what they needed, they closed the pouch back up and scooted away from Cyn. "I really appreciate this." They then chuckled, glancing down at Cyn's feet. "To think the person I tried to kill would be the one to help me..."
"Not a person." Cyn gently corrected, stepping closer to them so he could grab his sash, which held the pouch and his whip. "By technical definitions; monster."
"Well, you're the nicest 'monster' I've ever met." the Drago-Vipera chuckled. They couldn't help but smile up at Cyn, watching him tie the sash around his waist. "I hope we meet again sometime..."
"Maybe we will." Cyn hummed. He glanced towards the Drago-Vipera with a small smile of his own. "And next time, lets not shoot me with an arrow."
The Drago-Vipera laughed.
"Oh no, next time I'm gonna have to do something far more drastic!"
"Does it involve you killing me?"
"What do you plan on doing then?"
"Guess we're just gonna have to meet up again and have you find out!"
"Sounds like a plan then."
"Yep! Bye bye Incubus, see you later!"
