Bun life progress…
This post is dedicated to the high bun. My bun has been growing slowly but surely over the last couple of months and I love love this easy, go-to protective hair style.
See my bun life progress in the pictures above and my hair length goals for the next year (maybe?), courtesy of justgrowalready.com, in the last pic. Xx.
1. Henna Treatment: 400g BAQ Henna+1/4 cup honey+1 can of coconut milk
2. Cleansed scalp with Terressentials Pure Earth Hair Mud Wash in Lavender Garden.
3. Rinsed with cold water.
4. Curlformer set, used cold setting on hooded dryer.
This was the last true wash day I did before I installed my braids.
Since I’ve switched back to all natural hair care, the heat damage is much more apparent. It has gotten to the point where I want to cut it all off and start over.
JustGrowAlready’s transition to natural hair looked so effortless. What she’s doing now is almost like a “duh” moment for me.
She’s all natural now BUT she is also doing a lot of protective styling. She has marley twists in her hair two weeks at a time. After two weeks, she’ll take them out, wear her hair out for a short time, do a full wash day, and then reinstall them.
It’s a much better idea than I had. I installed my very small kinky twists with the plan to keep them in for 3 months, redoing any that look rough. The most hair care I do to them now is cleanse my scalp with mud wash and coat it all with coconut oil twice a MONTH.
When I have the extra month, I am getting marley hair so I can do chunky twists and try this regiment. When I do, I WILL cut off the hair that’s been damaged from heat and processed from the Chi Enviro Smoothing Treatment I did last spring.

Blow dried with cold air using tension method + loosely bunned with scarf to smooth out hair = straight hair & smooth results without direct heat on 29 weeks post hair. Full #washday post will be up in the morning. #relaxedhair #hhj #justgrowalready
