I have been really productive in all aspects of my life lately. I've been especially excited about pushing my creative energy into making something with both utility and beauty.
I want my own little renaissance.

"A picture is worth a thousand words"
I know it's not a literal statement, but I find it belittles the significance of any particular picture. Granted, I cannot tell you much on how to improve said phrase outside of "a billion" instead of "a thousand", and even then, do the extra six zeros mean anything at all? None of it does really, but that's not my point.
Tumblr has taught me this; that much like two completely contrast people can meet because of their interest in a common ground in something such as music, the same can be said for a photo. A picture. It has also taught me more of the beauty of them. You can use a picture to substitute for a thousand words, right? A thousand page book can be condensed into a three hour movie with this thought in mind, but it is meant as a two way street of course. However, this is where I want to focus briefly. A series of words, no matter how detailed, gives you just that, a picture in your head. But what if those words are about a thought? A feeling? A meaning? Tough to picture, really. (And we will get to that later) This is where they come in, as they have their place in the world as important as actions or pictures.
On the other side of the proverbial coin, if you see a picture it can instill in you a thousand words. Words of beauty, happiness, sadness, anger, you name it. And if you're like me, all of these at the same time potentially. Maybe if you're good at it you can even get those feelings, meanings and thoughts out of them. But where the magic happens is when those pictures leave you speechless in a way. When you feel things you have trouble expressing with words. (How about trying to explain a color?) How many words is that worth? A picture also transcends languages, cultures and eras. The proof of that is everywhere. All being brought together (metaphorically) because of the product of someones imagination or vision of the real world.
I have the pleasure of seeing beauty just about every day much like we all do, but sometimes we don't notice it or take it for granted. I didn't type this to teach, judge, inform, or change anything. I know at points it may have looked like it, but there really is not a point to speak of here. Just maybe to talk. Maybe to get someone to think (you or myself) about it. How many words is your picture worth?
