BREAKING NEWS October 3rd, 2016 Wildlife Dying written by Justin Constantine
Within the last few weeks, researchers and scientists have noticed that the wildlife surrounding Mount Prospect has started to die. There are black spots on the grass in the forest and in the park. The trees and plants are starting to wilt at a rapid pace. Some eye witnesses have also noted a sticky, black substance seeping from the bark of trees and stems of flora.
Birds have suddenly died midair, falling to the ground with little warning. Various other mammals have been found dead throughout the forests as well, including deer, fox, mountain lions, and bears. So far, there have been no reports of mysterious deaths for domesticated animals such as cats and dogs.
Local produce has started to die, resulting in a shortage of food. The Farmers’ Market has been closed indefinitely. There have also been reports of swarms of various new types of insects.
Citizens are advised to stay indoors and to eat nonperishable foods such as canned food, peanut butter, cereal, power bars. Dr. Diane Freeman has also told people to continue drinking bottled water as the wells and other water sources are no longer safe.
The CDC is currently running tests on the dying flora and fauna in the area and hopes to have tests come back soon.
