What Projector Screen should I use with my home cinema set up?
One of life's many questions - What projector screen should I use in my home?
This would all depend on how much you spent on your projector. If you've spent a lot on a projector you don't want to display on a tiny tripod screen, you want it to be magnificent like your image.
Say for instance you got a high end unit such as the BenQ W7500 or a Epson EB-TW9200 which costs you thousands of pounds, you might be better off getting a flat screen. You can look at Fixed frame screens or a Tab Tensioned screen. A flat image is key for getting the best out of your projector. Of course you can achieve this with a white wall, but you will show all the brush stokes and bumps, dirt and whatever else that is on your wall with it. An electric tab tensioned is a very costly option but is well worth it in this instance. Fixed frame screens are a permanent fixture to your wall, so think about if you want to see it all the time as once its up, you can't hide it.

So what if you didn't spend thousands but say a few hundred on a home cinema such as the Infocus IN8606HD or a BenQ W1070? Well you can go flat with a fixed frame or get a nice electric or manual screen. These come in a huge range of sizes and will be ideal as a solution where you don't have to empty your wallet. They retract nicely up into the canister when not in use and will be the aspect ratio you need. You can also get acoustically transparent material, should you wish to hide your speakers behind the screen itself.

If you did want to hide it, and had space above your ceiling, why not try a ceiling recessed screen? We can let you know the cut out size, and the surround size. These are neat options that will really look impressive.

Want something that you can get out when you need it? Or not able tfix to the wall due to it being a rented property? We have an option for that too! I would recommend going for a floor screen in this instance, these are a really stylish solution that are easy, quick and painless to set up.They normally go up to about 2m however Draper have a range that are much bigger in size if required.

There is so much choice, I can see how it can be hard. You can customize so much to get the set up looking how you want.
I will refer you to some of my favorite home cinema set ups to date to explain my point.
Top one would have to be the bat cave. HOW COOL IS THAT!? (Despite it costing around $300,000 to make.)
This one may be a little pricey, but it does make my point clear about getting a suitable screen when buying a pricey projector. This set up uses a 4K Sony projector, and the whole set up cost him 6 million dollars... Still, can you imagine how immersed you can get with this !?
Screens are key to making your set up look and feel like a cinema. I highly recommend them!
