Re Bill C7. I consider myself fortunate to have access to geared to income housing, medical services and provincial financial support (Ontario) although it is not a lot to live on. I'm also relatively healthy for someone who has Spina Bifida and deals with chronic pressure sores. Not everyone has this access etc which is why now with C7, to live as well as you can as a disabled person in Canada while fighting for better services is an act of rebellion. Continue to make noise disabled friends

The person that runs this blog is also disabled in several ways (motor, learning, sensory and mental); which is part of the reason why I’ve been talking about Bill C7 so much.

I’ll try my best to continue to bring this issue to light.

That FirstOne TV website no longer works for international folks to watch Derry Girls live when it airs. BOOOO. Do you know of any other options like that besides websites that you have to wait til the next day for ?

Questions I have for Stand Up hockey players as a disabled sled hockey player:

-How do your helmets come off so easily??? Like a fight starts and BAM goes the helmets!

-Do you just not protect your face??? Like a puck comes at your face and best case scenario you caught the snitch and worst case scenario you broke all your teeth and lost the game.

-If you fall down, why don’t you try to pass the puck before getting back up? Is it because you only have one stick and it’s too big?

-Your referees seem to actually make calls instead of standing there? Like one game I got elbowed in the head and then punched in the stomach and the ref was just like, ‘oh guess that’s how disabled folk play’ carry on.

-Although your refs don’t seem to have to jump out of the way AS much as ours do, so maybe they get bored with not trying to hop on their skates over sleds?

-Is it disappointing to only have one stick instead of two with stabby ends?

-Also, if there is a fight going on wouldn’t it be super easy to just go score? Or are there rules against that?

There's a fair amount of talk about proportional representation in elections here in Canada but it's really interesting to see how that works and plays out in other countries - like the Republic of Ireland that has a general election going on right now. They call their system “proportional representation by the single transferable vote (STV) in multi-seat constituencies” .Just thought I'd share for anyone else who is curious how it works elsewhere.

STV is an interesting system.

Its basically a fusion of ranked ballots and proportional representation. Its kind of complicated but based on how you rank your ballots, that’s how seats are proportionally assigned.

This is the system that B.C. tried twice to implement by referendum.

No joke, NDP's Jordan Boswell's Mum just came to my door canvassing for him. Offered to give me a ride to the polling station as well - I don't need that because it's not far for me to go in my wheelchair but I thought that was nice. Should've asked about those social media posts her son made some years ago but didn't think of it at the moment I was talkin to her. Plus that's a bit awkward to put Mum on the spot like that lol interesting though, eh?

I'm sure you're quite familiar with @vote4robgill on twitter. Seems like the dude likes to block folks who ask questions to clarify statements he makes, in this case about Jagmeet Singh being a hypocrite for some reason. Yeah, nice approach there bud, right? lol. Do you have any light on this situation perhaps, as to why he would say this?

Jagmeet Singh made the correct observation that Justin Trudeau did wrong in the SNC Lavalin scandal.
