Honestly... who cares how fast you run if you dont have someone to run with. Without others, there is no competition, no one to compare your times to. The best part about it, is that if you've ever been part of a team, you know how special it is to have had a connection with a group of people that you got to choose to be a part of your family. There were so many wonderful people I crossed paths with, some are still my my life, while others are off doing their own things, but everyone keeps a home in my heart in the memories we made. I always tell people I am a runner that happens to racewalk. It seems to upset some people in the walking community, but I cant turn my back on the 15 years of running I did that led me to the past 5 years of walking. People say "track is life".. well for me, 20/25 years of my life actually have been, and continue to be. So here is to #globalrunningday because whenever I need a break from life, running is the answer.
