Hello from a fellow goldenswaner who read Time Around before venturing into writing the pairing myself (yours and one other fic, which was sadly deleted years ago, were among the first fics I read when I became intrigued--more like obsessed lol--with the ship back in the day).
Just saw your reply to the anon about it and its sequel, which made me really excited. Though I am so very sorry to hear the extent of your health struggles over the last few years. I can't even begin to imagine how devastating the toll of it, not only physically but mentally, has been for you. (In additon to your notes being lost) To not be able to write as you once did must be so frustrating, and yet, you've managed to write nearly 150 fics despite that, which alone is incredible. And you deserve to be marveled at by your ability to continue doing what you love, continuing to write, despite your struggles and the limitations your illnesses has caused you.
I just wanted to say I am genuinely looking forward to finally seeing what you had planned for the sequel. I do remember reading the scene you mentioned, it was posted on here, right? I'm certain I read it way back when. (Like I said, I was obsessed, and usually that means I dig up anything and everything I can find to read, especially when it's a rare pair).
Anyways, super excited and I just really thought you should know that. :)
OMG, thank you so much for these kind and thoughtful words! I have two scenes I'm going to publish, and I'm still looking for a third one that I wrote but I can't seem to find. I will go through my writing blog and see if, by some miracle, the missing scene is the one I posted here! That would be super swell!
*goes and checks* OMG! IT *IS* THE MISSING SCENE! So there will be three separate scenes in the story - the two that appeared on my writing blog, and a third bonus scene that I actually wrote first, back when I was still writing the original Time Around. Chapter Four will be a summary/synopsis of What Was Meant To Have Been, to the best of my recollection. Alas, it would have been so good if I could have pulled it off!
I'm just so happy people still remember this story of mine - it means a lot to me, both the story itself and the fact that so many people remember and enjoyed it! My body and my brain have not been kind to me in the last few years, but I am doing my best and trying every day. I would not have succeeded as much as I have without support from my friends, other writers, and beloved readers. This is all for and because of all of you!
I've been toying with the idea of trying to recreate the notes for Spindle's End, which was another GoldenSwan story I started before I got sick that I thought I could at least post a synopsis of What Was Meant To Have Been, as well. I had such grand plans, alas!
But thank you, dearie, so so much, for being so kind and wonderful. Your message made me tear up a little, but in a good way! I can't explain how much it means to know that people remember me and still care! <333
